Gaborik has ALWAYS created offense with his speed. He's never been the type of player who created open ice with good stick handling and body protection like Nash. Even in his first half season here.

I don't know what you guys expect. You know the type of player Gaborik is by now.

So shielding the puck and being able to stick handle is the only way to create offense. So Richards can't create offensive when he's playing like he cares. You also answered your own question. He just isn't skating
