You love to throw out stats so here’s a stat for you: The Ducks currently sit tied for last in the league for goals scored with 56.

We don’t score enough goals. WE LACK FINISH.

Terry deked that goalie out of his pants. Portillo was completely out of position and yes, beaten. All Troy had to do was wait a split second. I bet if you asked him, he’d say the same thing.

We just scored 5 goals in our last game against Seattle before facing the Kings and Portillo's debut.

Toe pick stopped Terry. Apparently, Terry didn't beat him. If Terry beats Portillo, then Terry scores. It's simple facts here. I tip my hat to Portillo and his 6'6 frame that helped his toe pick stop Terry's attempt.

I tip my hat to the boring Kings' system. They have prevented teams from scoring more than 1 goal 10 times this season, including our loss yesterday, which they have netted 18 points from. They have prevented teams from scoring more than 2 goals 14 times, including our loss yesterday. It is obvious the Kings have a system that prevents high scoring often with their boring scheme, and that was before Portillo took to the ice yesterday.

Anaheim lacks an offensive system, which prevents them from scoring more. Let's use Zegras and Terry as proof of how our inept offensive system came to be, both at ES and at PP.

I agree for the most part but on the second Kings goal I feel the blame falls on him just as much as Zegras. It wasn’t a great pass by Z but Mac didn’t even try to reach for it. That’s not exactly a “gamer” mentality if you ask me.

I’ve been defending Mac for a while now but he needs to increase his effort level and start thinking the game a little quicker out there.

The Zegras pass was not near enough to reach for it to gain possession. Not even close.

Ducks are generating a lot more chances the last 6-7 games. They’re sitting in the bottom 7-8 in the league in shooting percentage. They’re not scoring on the chances they are getting.

Zegras was in the minus 20s those two seasons and when Terry didn’t have Getzlaf mentoring him his production started dropping. All that said, it doesn’t change the fact that this team needs more finishers. There’s a reason Verbeek tried to sign the likes of Marchessault and Stamkos and traded a defenseman for Gauthier. There’s clearly a need there.

A toe pick is when you're skating and the tip of your skate blade digs into the ice and you fall forward

Terry did beat Portillo, and 100% should have scored there, but at this point I think we just agree to disagree.

From someone who said “you keep saying that, but it doesn’t mean what you think it means” or whatever your gif said, it’s kind of ironic your misuse of the term “top pick”.

That was annoying at the time.

Watching it live, I cringed that Z threw a blind pass to the middle of the ice that wasn't near Mac. Upon review It looks like Mac noticed the errant pass late, but the pass' trajectory was still too far for him to do anything. The errant pass from Z looked perfect for #14 on the Kings at the bottom of the pic, though.
I know we all want fancy Z back, but that's one of the things he shouldn't do. That said, even in Getz' last season, Getz would do a blind, spin-o-rama pass.
