If anything, his salary indicates the team doesn't see him that way long-team.

As much as I criticize Pionk, I feel bad for the kid. I have no use for Marc Staal anytime after 2014. I had more use for Girardi. At least I could tell what Girardi was trying to do. Staal, as you said, just stands there.
