I’m trying to be as fair as I can watching this process of rebuilding, but, truthfully, DeAngelo is the only young Dman I see as being a potential keeper. There is so much about his game that looks special. Pionk is getting a a lot of press and love, but DeAngelo just does everything so well. I see Letang when I watch him play.
Not sure what you mean by keeper but yeah he’s got a stupid amount of talent.

I like Claesson as well, so I would hope we keep him, but I mostly agree. There's hope for Pionk, but I see him ending up as more of an M.A. Bergeron or a better Raphael Diaz. Although I'm trying to withhold some judgement until we see him with a more apt partner than Staal.

And good god Bishop's pads are f***ing ginormous.

Imagine Stevie is the coach and he walks in the room with that pad in the intermission

You look at the number Tony D put up in Juniors as a defenseman and it’s jaw dropping. Kid was a beast. He’s just JUST scratching the surface of what he can be. Kid learned how to defend too. He’s obviously a prick but he’s coachable or he wouldn’t have figured that part out.

I just wish he was getting the push that Pionk is getting because I think he’d do even more with it. I’d play him 23 mins a game all day long

Quinn has this team overachieving. I think he knows what he's doing.

Am I the only one who thinks DeAngelo is a right handed Del Zotto? Is that racist?

To clarify the similarities other than heritage: Offensive defensemen who dominated juniors offensively. Could use some work defensively. And both entering the league with chips on their shoulders

Totally agree.
