Don't teams usually score a goal or three in games like those?

thats not his job and not what he gets paid the big bucks to do, he would be the the first to tell you he should have stopped them, WELL, maybe not! he's always lookin to blame someone else

Lundqvist is now losing us games. Bottom line. He's a ****ing liability out there. He's not the same goaltender he was even last year. I'd seriously be more confident with Talbot right now.

c'mon. it's clearly our skaters' fault.

The first goal was al their fault. Not the goalie getting sniped cleanly by a fourth liner, from a bad angle.

The second one was everything but a weak backhander through his legs.

Oh, come on! All he does is blame himself and say he has to be better.

can we not have a goaltending controversy please. lundqvist has proven hes elite over 8 years. talbot has 5 good games. no brainer who i would rather have

Lundqvist got beat on a perfect shot on a semi 2 on 1, and a soft(ish) breakaway goal. I fail to see the big deal tonight.

if you say he's elite, then why was he at the end of the loss vs a backup in net who played a backtobacker.. don't elites usually end up the winner in games like that?

Holy ****ing ****. This post comes from the Championship line of reasoning. You make him look logical. The guy has been mediocre this year, but that was the best game he played all year by far. He gave up a goal that was completely unstoppable and his team had maybe 2 quality chances all game. Meanwhile the Kings were getting grade A chances. They lost 1-0. What does the backup have to do with anything if his team couldn't score? :shakehead

The guy has been ASS today. Complete garbage, but using that game as an example is an affront to common sense.

Elite goaltenders stop those 2 shots. Rask has made better saves. The Nash deflection was a much harder shot to stop then either of the 2 goals. Those were weak goals. Hank usually stops those shots.

Lundqvist probably should have had one of those. But, on the other hand, the team should probably have 4 goals right now.

please tell me what makes him elite?

is it the way he handles the puck, or the way he stays deep in net, or the way he stops the over the shoulder goals, or the way he's get out of position cause a puck should never be deflected when he's in net or .... PLEASE, i been watchin other goalies from other teams, the only thing different i see is his blonde hair and blue eyes!
Lundqvist does not have blonde hair

Well one thing is for sure, Talbot will play in Dallas, Hank needs some competition.

That wasn't a bad angle at all. The ****. If anything, the second goal was questionable, but Thornton's goal was pretty prototypical. John Moore just decided to give him 10 feet of open ice to walk in.

You can't cut lundy slack today. They can't afford to lose two in a row at home before a road trip, and go back under .500. He has to be better.

Not to spoil the lets hate Lundqvist discussion, but I'm more concerned with this stat:

SOG: 33

Goals: 1

all the lundy apologists makin every excuse in the world as to why a goal was scored...

when kreider shot the penalty shot how come rask was able to save it all by himself, if lundy is elite then rask is the best that ever played the game!

Dorsett tries that and this board burns him on the cross.

That's why I didn't mind it after I thought about it for 10 seconds. Even though we know the refs will always side with the goaltender every single time. Hated being down a man basically 4 minutes in a row, but ya can't have everything.

Elite goaltenders give up soft goals too. Watch others play if you don't believe me.
