Every time I watch a game, which to be honest isn't a ton. Sanchez does something to cost the Jays. Sometimes big, sometimes small but its often.
It's not really that tbh. My main problem with the trade is i don't think Sanchez is a starter. Not good enough offensively to be a DH and not good enough defensively to be a position player over Varsho, Barger or Lukes. That leaves him as an utility player and in that role i don't like what he has to offer at all. I guess the Jays can just DFA him at some point and it's not like they gave much for him but still don't think they'll have the guts to DFA him and call Pinango up once Barger is back. Sanchez was terrible today not the only one far from it but still ...

They really, really need Bieber to be better than this, or else the starting rotation will be a hot mess for the rest of the season and they'll be kissing even the WC spot goodnight by August, as the bullpen will collapse from the workload. Nothing else to be done now other than throw him out there again next time and see if he's got it in him.

That was a fun game. Lots of mental mistakes but fun to listen to.
I missed extras but glad for Loperfido. I liked Sanchez earlier in the season but I’d prefer Loperfido now

He hasn't really thrown since last year and had no spring. It'll take more than a few outings for him to get going I'm sure

The seeds for this loss were sown the day before with all those runners stranded; they should have cruised to a comfortable win and preserved Varland for this game.

You would still hope Rogers could get it done, but yeah…9/10ths of the problems this season come back to the bats.
A lot of different kinds of seeds have been planted at different times so these types of games are expected.
But, if the next two months, despite the crappy schedule, are as entertaining as last night then it’ll be another fun season.

True, for entertainment it’s better to lose 9-7 than 2-0, but we’re well past the point of any moral victories. Oh well, roll on today and hopefully take the series.

It’s baseball. Everyday is a brand new season where wins and losses are irrelevant
