32 years old, was mostly shit this year, signed at $6.75M for the next 4 years, and has a 3-team trade list. Not a NTC, but 3 teams he would accept a trade to.
That hit he threw on Necas. The ability to do that to a player away from the puck and not get penalized is a valuable skill.

Could be a great replacement for Robertson in Dallas. Maybe Hertl can be their next Benn.

Why would Bednar break up his best pairing, and still one of the best pairings in the league?
So that a worse player can have their ego met?

Bednar did exactly that halfway through most games 2-3 years ago, before Bo started struggling.

Whether they were trailing, or had the lead, they would swap Toews with Byram around the middle point of the 2nd period, and keep them there until the end of the game. Not just in a few games either.

I doubt they trade for him, but if they did, they'd probably try him out with Cale again at some point, since he and Toews are 2-3 years older now. They tried Kulak with Cale, they'd definitely try Bo.

Knowing Vegas, some stupid ass team will help them out and take Hertl while sending them a 1st

He's not a bad pick for a team who can't find a 2C. Even a down year he still had decent 2C numbers and the cap hit isn't that bad.

I know he got injured in the past but right now he's healthy, at 32 he's 2 years younger than Nelson and 3 years younger than Kadri.

You guys make it sound like he'd be a terrible pick up, he wouldn't.

If I had to guess, it would be something like Albert Johansson and a 2nd round pick.

AlJo was a guy I really loved his draft year, he has well above average decision-making. He established himself as a regular with the wings last year and I know they really like him because Stevie Y was singing his praises saying he was filling-in well in the Top-4 at times. That being said, he's not really big or physical and is not a point producer.

I think he's the type of player that would fit in really well on the Avs and I think he's the type of player they would target.
Ya he was the one guy I was looking at, but hadn't followed his development.

Another option is that they might flip an asset they get from the Larkin trade in this deal. Makes sense for them to proiritize that anyway

He's had far worse injuries than Nelson and Kadri for his career which takes a toll. Vegas lost so much confidence in him this year they preferred Marner at C, then when William Karlsson returned they IMMEDIATELY moved Hertl to the 3rd line instead of easing Karlsson back on the 3rd line.

Point is: teams shouldn't be doing Vegas any favours by taking this guy on. If anything, force them to deal Karlsson instead.

I don't think it will happen this summer, but next summer it's possible all three of McDavid, Matthews, and Werenski, on the last year of their deals, might be looking to get moved.
There's another big UFA next summer too...

The Decision: Denver edition.

MacK McDavid Necas
Landeskog Nelson Matthews
Roy Kadri Hughes
LOC Drury (at 3.5) Kelly

Makar Werenski
Byram Kulak
Hejda Graves

And yes despite adding Matthews and McDavid I refuse to remove Nelson from 2C.

I'll take it one step further - imagine if that recent video from that fat f*** mccrimmon just really turned off all the other 31 GMs to the point that they ALL said "f*** those assholes, we're not trading with them"...

Good luck building your already OLD team with pieces that you need through the draft, waivers and free agency!!
