Boston Bruins 2026 Offseason Roster & Salary Cap VII

I just hope that Don offer deals to Lysell and Potrias. I am confused what Don has planned for the draft whether he trades or keeps that pick. Will he finally move Korpi? Will someone make Donny an offer be can’t refuse ?

If you can shed Korpisalo’s 3M, you do it for a ham sandwich.
There's no way they should trade him you save only 2 million if you put dbietro in unproven goalie in there korpi in the second half was every bit as good as swayman if not better

Well we finished six points behind them despite having pasta McAvoy Lindholm both of them Victor all missing significant time if we were a little bit healthier we probably would have made up the three point difference so yeah I believe we are right there with Montreal and what do you think our young guys are going to do not take a bigger step forward this season?
Okay. But I think we are behind them until we prove otherwise.

I'm fine if they want to extend Zacha 4-5 years. Now his contract lines up with the rest of the group signed until 2030/31/32. (McAvoy/Hampus/Zadorov/Jeannot/Swayman/Pasta/Elias/Geekie).

It's where people suggest 8 years for him that I can't get behind. 9 more years of Pavel Zacha starting this fall? Another decade of freakin' Pavel Zacha? No sorry, can't go there, if I'm Sweeney I'm drawing a hard line in the sand. If Zacha likes it here so much, then take the 5-years or I'll move you, simple as that. This is not a player I'm bending backwards to continue employment. I'll even give up some AAV to get it done, but the term doesn't go beyond 5 years.
I think he’s a fringe core player. Maybe today’s anchor on the second line though you hope Hagens takes the reins.

Which is why I said if you could shed his contract. Which is $3M
Still only save 2 million because you get to pay dpietro 1 million not worth it korpi is a guy who can play 35 40 games and not have to have sway wear down. Not to mention he is better straight up than d-pietro

So you just have the MVP of the AHL a guy who’s 79-25-8 since joining the Bruins organization rot away in Providence? What does he have to do to earn a shot?

Does he need to go 82-0 with 82 shutouts to get your approval?

Win the job in training camp which he had more games to do last season do you want me to screenshot a picture of his stats from last preseason? Yeah he put up big numbers in Providence but just for your information the NHL is a different animal than the competition he's facing in the American hockey League think hagens/McDavid for example

They lost Pasta for 5 games, that's significant to you? Mac, Arvi and Lindholm around 15 games each iirc, and there's a good possibility Arvi won't even be back - the Canadiens lost Newhook, Dach and Guhle for MUCH longer stretches, have 2 blue chip rookies in Zharovsky and Reinbacher on the way with lots of trade ammunition to get even better now, they are significantly better than the Bruins much to my chagrin.

Do you seriously think our young players compared to Montreal’s? I get being optimistic, but we have to be real here.

So Elias Lindholm is good for 40-48 pts for 7.75M

Tuch is good for 60-65 for 10.5M (2.75M more).

I think next year we will easily see the 45 pt C's get 7M. I think we're going to end up right at the value line in no time on that one.
That’s with basically inflation. Most long term contracts from years ago will look good. However you sliced it though Sweeney paid and gave NTC to a player with a chronic injury, and now says shucks about it. That’s bad management however you try to justify it because the player becomes untradable.

I get the rest of it, they have a lot of middling players and a couple high end guys which they won’t trade so they are kind of stuck where they are. They just don’t have the assets for anything and other than their top players, the others probably won’t get enough value to justify replacing them unless you are rebuilding. So the team will basically be as is for the beginning of the season maybe with another tweener guy thrown into the mix.

My thing is by the deadline if they are no better than what they were last year or worse I’d like to see a rebuild and not just try to retool again.

Yes I do. I think minten and khusy in particular are going to be very good for a very long time and I also believe even if in fact Montreal or any other team has better upcoming talent that doesn't necessarily mean anything did anyone have the penguins or flyers even sniffing the playoffs before the season started or even the bruins for that matter? Go back and tell me at this time last year that the bruins fly is in penguins would make the playoffs with all close to or at 100 points in the capitals rangers devils Florida Panthers Maple leafs would all miss the playoffs things just happen

Ok, sure. So what if he looks great in the pre season this year? Send him down, don’t give him a shot?

Korpisalo was OK at best last year. I found the Bruins were playing behind 1-0 or 2-0 within the first 3-4 shots of the game. Then he’d play well when it was too late.

He was okay did you watch the second half of the season the guy was arguably better than sway
