Why do you think Zacha isn't a center?
I always thought it was common knowledge. He’s better at wing than center. The Bruins constant search with Elias and Mittlestadt seems to point in that direction. But honestly statistically I’ve got nothing to show that he’s “bad.” He’ll win you every other draw, which is fine. He’s a good defender.

You guys tell me. What are your thoughts of Zacha at center? I like him there a lot more than Elias and Mittlestadt that’s for sure.

Count me in amongst your flock.

I've never doubted they'd run most of the team back after they made the playoffs.

There'll be some tweaks (Hagens, possibly Brunet) but I'm not expecting any earth shattering changes.
I expect those two.

Then maybe one over pay free agent signing- like Mason Marchment.

Thats it.

In case you missed it, as stated in the original post, Pasta for 1OA is nothing more than a thought exercise. Not an actual trade proposal.

Basically comes down to who thinks they should full rebuild vs who thinks they can right the ship to truly contend during his window

No clear wrong answer, just different approaches. But i think if you're in the rebuild route you would get 1OA + for a player of Pasta's caliber

I wanted Tuch a few years ago, but 10.5 over 8 is pretty steep. That said, he's a good player and once again, another team gets better while the Bruins run it back.

They ain't making the playoffs, folks. So, now comes the question, do you want a Bruins team who misses the playoffs by a few points, or do you want to punt the season in hopes for a high pick?

Dinking around with plug and play 3rd liners won't move the needle for the Bruins. I'm leaning towards selling off, honestly. The worst thing this team can do is do nothing, and that's my fear.

I'd punt, focus on playing / developing the young guys you have, and draft high next year when there's also hopefully a better ufa class

I wouldn't sign someone like Andersson

Yeah, I'm 70/30 on punt right now. Like I said, my biggest fear is Donny boy doing absolutely nothing. That doesn't help the Bruins now, or in the future.

Not sure what Washington would need to give up, but Kyrou and Tuch would be pretty significant additions to a team that had 95 points last year
Agreed. Loading up for Ovi's last ride probably. Dubois also missed a bunch of last season and he was good the year before, having him back and hopefully healthy will also help them.

Any idea what Buffalo is getting back?

I prefer him at center. He's been mostly a center with the Bruins and has had career years as a center. Last year, he centered Mittlestadt and Arvidsson and hit 30 goals/60 points for the first time. Also, Sturm has talked glowingly how much he likes Zacha at center.

That's not to say if the Bruins find an upgrade over Zacha that he won't get bumped over to the wing. Right now, he's the best option as the #1 center they have.

For better or worse, I think it's a non-starter for this Bruins front office. I can't see them tanking, I really can't.

McMann's 30.
Geekie's 27.

Geekie scored more goals in the last 2 years than McMann has in his career.

McMann 6 years 34million 5.75/year
Geekie 5 years left 27.5 mil 5.5/year

Bananas

I totally get that but McMann had a fantastic year is fast and hits. Looks like a late developer. Also we’re gonna get an asset forGeekie, asset management 101.
