Updated today good stuff

My top 20 earlier in day went first 22 so none were there - however rugged Swede defenseman mocked to Bruins

23. WILLIAM HAKANSSON

The Bruins could use another defender in the system, and Håkansson, while not flashy, would be a solid pickup. Can he kill plays? You bet, and that’s what matters. He uses his big 6-foot-4, 207-pound frame to flatten opponents while being a pain in the rear end defensively. Håkansson is quite mobile for his frame, too. I have little concern about his D-zone play or his ability to be a decent penalty killer. He can be mean, too.

When did Hakansson get "mean"? I watched the world Junior tournament, I didn't see anything to get excited about. Just looked up the stats, mean Hakansson got 2 penalty minutes in the tournament in 7 games. 2 points. He also doesn't give you speed nor skill. Just a big guy. Carlo did that for you, and we got rid of him.

He makes me think Urho Vaakainanen all over again. If Kelpov is still there at 23, he should be the pick.

I’m not picking him at 23. He got ‘mean’ against Will Zellers of all people going after him.

I wish I could see that. I'll take your word for it. Must've been a real dustup! Are you still picking Pipp at 23? :DD

Hakansson over either of the Ruck brothers would be malpractice. Just the value of holding one of them would be over and above the value of the player himself. Ever played Monopoly? We just saw what the Tkachuks did. And the Folignos. What do you think the Ruck identical twins are going to do? Or the Hughes brothers?

Nothing like Uhro ~ I hated that pick. Made no sense after drafting 5 defensemen in the previous two drafts in rounds 1 (Zboril & McAvoy) and 2 (Carlo, Lauzon, Lindgren) leaving centers Robert Thomas and Josh Norris on the table with Bergeron & Krejci 30.

I concluded the Euros pressured him

Yeah, after only 9 seasons in Boston.

Haha ….I like Piip but I enjoy driving Marchy (a good dude folks trust me) nuts

If my top 20 goes I put earlier I’m looking at

Liam Ruck (I’m in love)
Hurlbert
Blyel
Hermansson

In that order

I will say knowing them that Piip, Mutryn, and Jack Hextall are all guys they could take

Thought the exact same thing! 😂😂 Sounds like Vaak again
I kind of feel that way about Hermansson & Lysell

If Liam Ruck and JP Hurlbert (even Preston) are there at 23 going to be quite the rush

Yes, but I think any organization that drafts Ruck is going to have to move up to get the brother, or it is going to get ugly after RFA. The price only goes up from the draft.

I’m so with you on Ruck. Liam I take though and worry about the other brother later

Get the best one and figure it out - teams will be weary breaking them up

Ottawa has 25 & 32 I believe - seems logical

If the GMs around the league lets them have both Rucks that late, it will be malpractice. I will be closely watching that. It is exactly a Monopoly play to be made by a savvy GM.

Preston is exactly the player Neely talked about getting Speed and Skill! This guys upside is more than taking a chance on him if he’s there at 23, no brainer!

Although I’d be ok with Bleyl or klepov.

Preston is my guy if he's there. Like Hermansson, L Ruck, Hurlbert and Nordmark as well. I want a ++ skill guy with either killer speed or a killer shot or savant like play making as their #1 tool.

I’m with ya. Preston fits all those categories. Speed, Skill, and an NHL shot already.

I actually could see someone scooping him up though before the Bruins pick.

Yeah, after only 9 seasons in Boston.
I’m not the poster you quoted, but he has a point here.

They moved on from Carlo because he’s no longer effective in today’s game. Big? Sure. Skates well? Absolutely. But an absolute muffin and a complete zero with the puck on his stick.

The nine years Carlo played here are not relevant to where they are at today. Today? That type of player gets eaten alive.

Just asking posters that have researched this years Prospects more then I have. How do you feel about Maddox Dagenais at 23rd.
I think he has a lot to like another big Center in the prospect pool would never be a bad thing

From NHL.com these guys are pretty connected to form opinions and watch the players - they are light years ahead of the entertaining but all over the place Corey Pronman

23. Boston Bruins

Kimelman -- Elton Hermansson, RW, MoDo (SWE-2):Hermansson (6-1, 181) had a solid debut season in Allsvenskan, Sweden's second division, with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 38 games. But the 18-year-old was dominant at the World Under-18s, being named the tournament's best forward after leading all players with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in seven games for Sweden. He's a high-end skater with a versatile offensive game and a strong shot. Hermansson's skill combined with the playmaking ability of center James Hagens, the No. 7 pick of the 2025 NHL Draft, could be the foundation for the Bruins' top line for years to come.

Morreale -- Maddox Dagenais, C, Quebec (QMJHL):Dagenais (6-4, 196), the son of retired NHL forward Pierre Dagenais, is known for his strong offensive toolkit. The left-handed shot added a welcome layer of physicality to his power game this season, something that would resonate well with Bruins fans. In 62 games, the 18-year-old had 62 points (30 goals, 32 assists) and 25 power-play points (10 goals, 15 assists), highlighting his effectiveness with the man advantage.
