Wishlist for day 1 #5

***Make the damn trade. Be the bigtime GM and move into that #2 slot and draft your future stud Ivar Stenberg.***

If not...

1) Carels- Everyone of these players have dealt with injuries. He's still my top D.
2) Reid- Highest upside of the D, even if his defense needs much work
3) Smits- Wildcard that can skate better then most of the D in the class.
4) Malhotra- Top center available.

#26: Before executing any trades to move up wait and see who is on the board. Be ready if the player you covet it there.

Klepov still tops my wishlish. Doubtful he is there but not getting mocked in the first round in a few gives me some hope.

Shilov not ranked in the first round, but still among my favorites as the guy with potentially the most offensive talent in the mid to late 1st.

Morozov So much to work with here.

Bleyl Has become my fav of the undersized offensive D in the class.

Novotny I think he is selected before the Rangers take the podium, but would be very happy with him as the pick.

For me
Bjorck at 5 is a no brainer
26 is more interesting
Ive been taking Bleyl a lot in mocks as i dont like the fowards in this range unless cullen, klepov, hurlburt or command are there
So i trade down here many times for 2 seconds
Target Goljer RD and
Chrenko, Vandenberg or Hoen
Next pick Svensk LD
Others i like after are
Holmertz, Gashilov, Fyodorov, Sorensson Dravecky, Kurtz, Tukio, Matyev

Really hoping to get another 1st for trochek

I'm kinda off Carels.

I don't see the superstar there. I see solid long term very good, possibly first pair, but dependable more than flashy.

I want the star. I won't hate it, but, I don't love it either.
So you wouldn't want a dman like McDonagh in his prime

How I see the first 4 going...

McKenna - TOR
Stenberg - SJS
Maholtra - VAN
Reid - BUF

At that point.... Take Bjorck.

Hopefully, we get a miracle and Drury can also land one of Helenius or Ostlund for Trocheck. Both are NHL ready.

+Bjorck +Helenius/Ostlund is a good start to getting modern day skill down the middle.

Realistically going off who I like from scouts rankings rather than my own off the board picks

At 5 I'm hoping for Smits
At 26 I'm hoping for one of Klepov, Morozov, Preston, Ignativicus or Villeneuve

Later in the draft I really hope we take a flier on Karmanov

Interesting how the entire league and the league’s media and media personality can totally ignore criminal charges against the McKenna family but refused to drop other criminal charges or proceedings that have already concluded in a not guilty verdict. Disgusting! I wouldn’t draft McKenna with a 10 foot pole.
