GDT: 2026 Free Agency Frenzy: Wed. July 1st | 12 PM

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Xenforo Cloud is upgrading us to version 2.3.11 on Monday July 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM PST. Expect a temporary downtime during this process. More info here
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Makes sense. They know 100% he's an offer sheet target and they're probably not going to be able to match. They don't want just draft picks for him. They need players.

Dallas really f***ed that team over with the Rantanen deal.

Seguin getting hurt is what screwed everything up. He was having a good season. He probably would have taken a trade to somewhere like Detroit.

Annoying that Hischier decided to stay with Glass Jack and Thanasis Hughes. Enjoy wasting the rest of your prime with Dougie Hamilton as your #1 lol

Seguin has a full NMC. I doubt he would want to go anywhere. The crazy thing with Dallas is they have $42m in cap space next year.

They just don't have cap space this year. They could sign both Robertson & Bourque without issues next year.

Nill didn't do enough to clear cap space over the year for this eventuality. And, they seriously over paid Harley. He's the guy they need to move to sign both.

I could honestly see Mavrik Bourque as a target. Loves going to the net. Almost all of his goals come due to him getting near the net. Dallas tried him at centre two seasons ago and it didn't work but I could see Montreal trying it. If not you put him with Bolduc on the third line and really build a strong third that feels more like a second.

I think he’d be a great target

Guess Carey Price contract ended today right? Talk about an eternity. He was signed around the same time as Karl Alzner.

Kirby Dach = $4M
Bolduc - $875K
Xhekaj = $1.3M

The Habs has $6,175M in QO for their RFA

With that in mind, the Habs still has $9M to play in the UFA or for trade.
That's not a whole lot but there's still Monty's and his 3.1M (minus Fowler) that can give us another $2.1M at best.

The other contract I think we can drop is Josh Anderson at 5.5M......if it's for a big fish.
