Trouba and Nurse's cards at the time of trading. Kind of interesting
I agree with you that Nurse isn't as bad as his press makes him out to be. But for the money he makes, it's a terrible investment, not to mention he plays LD not RD. You mentioned the Oil retaining. In the position they are in, I can't see them willing to do that for 4 more years because they just can't afford do it if they want to improve their team with other acquisitions.Nurse isn't as bad as he's made out to be. It's literally another trouba situation, which worked out very well for us.

Somebody want to translate this for me. What craziness are Habs fans up to now?
Nurse only makes sense if we deal one of our young LD, which I suspect is the case.Except he plays the wrong side? The Ducks are set on LD. Trouba also isn't signed for 5 nor years over 9 mil and shouldn't get that contract this summer. His position of need and assumed better contract makes him much more valuable to the Ducks.
Anaheim is interested in getting out of Mac's contract for young, cheap players that can play now. Montreal, Calgary, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Winnipeg, ect are seriously interested, most of them because Mac doesn't have a trade clause and it's tough for most of those teams to attract players.Somebody want to translate this for me. Bennett still showed flashes of the makings of that in juniors, McT plays a completely different game. I think it’s also worth noting that Bennett wasn’t fully unlocked until he was traded. McT and Bennett are built completely different physically , don’t share the same speed, tenacity , grit , or aggression.Sam Bennett didn't become a playoff monster until he turned 26 years old. Maybe Mac needs a little more time.
I swear to god if we keep Carlson over Trouba just because of a sunk cost fallacy.Anaheim is interested in getting out of Mac's contract for young, cheap players that can play now. A speculative package from Montreal was Kapanen, Reinbacher/Engstrom, and a first.
Also, cutter is looking at $10 million per for a long term deal, which is honestly cheaper than I suspected. Leo a little more. Anaheim wants Carlson back at $8 million per, but no serious discussions yet.
Made it seem like carlson is more likely to re-sign than trouba or gudas.
I doubt that is the case to be honest. Im not sure Trouba ever truly wanted to be here. He was in a tough situation and made the best of it. Now he's essentially the top ufa RD after Raddysh(?) on the market. We're not getting a discountI swear to god if we keep Carlson over Trouba just because of a sunk cost fallacy.
Well, Carlson is better than trouba, just a lot older. It's sort of kicking the can down the road.I swear to god if we keep Carlson over Trouba just because of a sunk cost fallacy.

Di Marco has legitimate sources.Thanks.
So this guy claims to know what Cutter wants or he's just spitballing like the rest of us? I kinda see Cutter around $10M myself. The rest of it sounds like just more media speculation during the slow time of the year.
Should note: Hage committed to Michigan for another year. Won't be an NHL player until 27/28I think kesserling and Mikheyev are great targets. Im also wonder if moving Mctavish for an ELC player like Hage is a more prudent decision than someone like Larkin.
No, it doesn't help nearly as much now, but it's a one step back three steps forward if Hage is who scouts think he is. He will play in the NHL next year, but 2C is too steep an ask.
You can say the same about Carlson. Trouba at least spent a season here building a life for himself and his wife. Verbeek gonna sign the wrong guy because he gave up a 1st for him ughI doubt that is the case to be honest. Im not sure Trouba ever truly wanted to be here. He was in a tough situation and made the best of it. Now he's essentially the top ufa RD after Raddysh(?) on the market. We're not getting a discount
That doesn’t necessarily mean anything, he can de-commit at literally any time.Should note: Hage committed to Michigan for another year. Won't be an NHL player until 27/28
Yeah, but there was a bit of a show of itThat doesn’t necessarily mean anything, he can de-commit at literally any time.
Hard disagree. Give me Trouba every time over Carlson who could barely make a simple pass most of the timeWell, Carlson is better than trouba, just a lot older. It's sort of kicking the can down the road.
Maybe Trouba wants big money for 7-8 years? You can say the same about Carlson. Trouba at least spent a season here building a life for himself and his wife. Verbeek gonna sign the wrong guy because he gave up a 1st for him ugh
I honestly haven’t followed him at all to know what this means.Yeah, but there was a bit of a show of it
Maybe. If that’s the case i rather just not re-sign either of themMaybe Trouba wants big money for 7-8 years?
Can’t piss around too long with bargaining with UFA’s.
