2026-27 Roster

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

What should the Hawks do next season?

Knies and Robertson seem like the best bet at this point, as far as acquisitions go, simply because they have the least power to refuse the trade and Chicago is not an appealing destination right now.

Robertson could hypothetically refuse to sign and wait for an offer sheet, but that sheet would have to come from a team he'd agree to sign for, and it would have to be something the Blackhawks wouldn't match... assuming they'd even want to match for a guy who so openly wanted nothing to do with them in that scenario.

Knies is an even better bet because he has no trade protection and a signed contract.

why woud toronto trade knies for futures they traded there picks the next 2 drafts. my guess is the only way they do it is something like. #4 rinzel or Lev and TT for knies. they are not taking 2027 firsts. IE they just traded for the top d that was going to be a UFA and paid him a ton. Any trade that makes them substantially worse next year I just dont see. unless its just a crazy return

Bertuzzi-Bedard-Kantserov
Stenberg-Frondell-Lardis
Moore-Nazar-Teravainen
Donato-Greene-Mikheyev

Byram-Crevier
Vlasic-Levshunov
Kaiser-Rinzel
Korchinski/EDM

Somehow draft Stenberg and get creative to get Byram with futures.

Byran-Crevier would be one of the worst top pairs in the NHL, why would we spend for that?

Byram would be our #1 at this point as sad as that is. I was just matching a defensively responsible player for him to play with until maybe Levshunov or Rinzel figure out their own game.

Assuming Stenberg isn't available to be drafted by Hawks at #4 so they go Malhotra or Reid

- Trade Soderblom for future considerations to any team
- Trade Teravainen to Islanders for Casey Cizikas
- Offer Sheet Dorofeyev (5 x $9M, Comp is 2027 1st, 2027 2nd and 2027 3rd)
- Sign Korchinski, Del Mastro and Commesso to 2 x $1.2M deals
- Sign Bedard to 8 x $15M

Moore-Bedard-Bertuzzi
Dorofeyev-Frondell-Kantserov
Greene-Nazar-Lardis
Donato-Cizikas-Burakovsky
(Mangiapane, Slaggert)

Vlasic-Rinzel
Kaiser-Levshunov
Korchinski-Crevier
(Del Mastro)

Knight
Commesso

Cizikas while no longer player he once was can still win faceoffs, kill penalties, etc making him ideal for #4 C spot for a year (Both he and Teravainen contracts expire next offseason)

Might as well just sign Tuch and keep the picks that teams a bottom 10 team anyway.

So no adding of top 6 winger and we just took and already flawed D group and made them worse defensively and weakened RD all while having nothing in pipeline coming giving away the #4 pick

Davidson plan looking worse than Yzerplan

Cant put a team worth a damn together at this point

Here is the 2026-27 abomination (Assuming Bedard signs extension)

Bertuzzi-Bedard-Kantserov
Moore-Frondell-Teravainen
Donato-Nazar-Lardis
Greenway-Greene-Burakovsky
(Mangiapane)

Byram-Kaiser
Vlasic-Levshunov
Korchinski-Rinzel
(Del Mastro)

Knight
Soderblom

Worse D and still a mess upfront with a bunch of expensive dead weight to drag everyone down

already claiming the roster moves are finished as as they sit on 3 1st in 2027, heaps of cap and the best prospect pipeline in the league

Your right

What former top 5 pick who has never lived up to hype but wants to be paid elite $ and has history of concussions can we trade for up front?

Maybe this time we can trade away Frondell since we dont have #4 pick to give away along with the future 1st's

Korchinski good as gone, personally not a fan so whatever

With a right side spot on D open, we are gonna be looking for a bruiser, I expect a massive push for Trouba

Most of us acknowledged the D both needed to be tougher and more of a push offensively next year. That was either gonna come internally or with two separate moves. The first domino has fallen to improve this D.

Trouba is 32 and already is showing decline having struggled 2nd half of season after his "Resurgence" after years of struggle and decline

He was also absolutely horrific in playoffs for Ducks,, Absolutely worthless

Of course our GM is Kyle Davidson so no doubt another awful move is on horizon to further destroy hope and joy

Kaiser can shift to the right side, I think Korchenski stays for now
