If you don't have suitable power forwards, putting a big D-man with good hands in the bumper is not the worst idea. There's a lot of contact in that area, and putting a smaller guy there is asking him to be a pinball - which is why the smaller forwards tend to hang out at the side of the net where a D-man doesn't want to get out of position to check them.
Your evaluations are wild, man.

"They had a lot of skill at forward"

"They had no suitable forward, had to put a D there"
Do you consider the typical power forward to be a "skill player?"

McKenna is very skilled, but had 1 point in 5 games.
Catton had 1 point.
Maybe the issue wasn't skill?

Meh. I am enjoying the irony of claiming the team had a lot of skill while saying that they had no forward possesing a skill to be used in the spot you were talking about.

Is Mrtka a guy you like?

Mynhldraft has him in a possible spot when it comes to the Flyers.

Lol at Laughtchenko with 1G 0A in 5 games. Combined with Bonk's 1G 1A, and the two players still scored less than Buium so far.

Truly some mastermind picks those 2.
He did not look like a player who would have otherwise been in the NHL. Those players should be dominant in this tournament. But to insert him at such a young age, Hockey Canada had to agree. Which raises more questions.

That site will have anybody in that spot though

That guy is rather confusing to me, not sure what to think about him - given his parameters, look at him he is like 2m tall or something at 17, got to play for top tier Třinec men several times this and last season, but its hard for me to separate the impact of how much bigger he is than the rest of his class

Going by stats his transition to NA hockey was just seamless but again - I cant judge because I know I cant separate the size thing

This has to be deflating (?) for the Swedes. Put on a real show in the second half of regular time, especially the 3rd. Then immense pressure in OT PP. And then... such goal

The finnish goalie, though... when I looked him up, what a record over his career. Flyers would ruin him.

The Swedish curse continues, in full effect
