Bergqvist is not getting a ton of ice time. He only played 4 minutes in 1st period & was -1. He probably played about the same in 2nd period but will be +1 since he scored 5 on 5.

I expect he'll end up around 12 minutes. Sweden is relying on ASP, Willander & Lindstein to be on the ice at all times with the other 4 guys rotating in.

Eklund plays a bit like Gallagher if Gallagher could skate, pass & create. He's fearless.

Bergie played a lot better in the 2nd period. You mentioned he was -1 in the 1st but he also amost coughed up another goal on a turnover. Hopefully he keeps playing better each period and his ice time increases.

No, our prospect pool is too deep, it wouldn't be fair apparently.

well to be fair it could look very different if Russia was there as we would have 3 on the team (Demidov, Volokhin, Khanin).

Then you have Hage, if he scored 2 more goals, no player in the entire NCAA would have more goals then him. That in almost any year would get you great odds of making the WJC"s. I know Team Canada sometimes shies away from the kids that go the NCAA route but with the season he's having it's surprising he didn't make it as he is Michigan's offense. I've been very impressed with how skilled he is and he's got the confidence to do those things in the offensive zone. Maybe not the hardest worker though but not a buttercup either.

If Fowler were born 5 weeks later he would be the backup again for sure. If Koivu doesn't get sick and miss over a month does he make Team Finland, I don't know but clearly he is on their radar since he was with the National Junior team before getting sick. He badly needs to bulk up but he's got some jam in his game. Not sure how skilled he is as it's hard to get a read on him in Liiga as he's mostly a 4th liner there.

11 of 30 of Hughes picks have been overagers so that stings a bit when a 1/3rd of your picks won't be eligible.

that's why i'm not even watching this year. Bullshit Russia isn't playing international hockey , yet we can still draft the kids. Team Canada is an old boys club, nothing more

Did you listen to his interview? He barely speaks English.
I didn't but 9/10 Swedes speak fluent English and that number is only going up with the younger generation, Swedes from up North are less likely to know English but they are such a low percent of the population
