Bergqvist is not getting a ton of ice time. He only played 4 minutes in 1st period & was -1. He probably played about the same in 2nd period but will be +1 since he scored 5 on 5.

I expect he'll end up around 12 minutes. Sweden is relying on ASP, Willander & Lindstein to be on the ice at all times with the other 4 guys rotating in.

Eklund plays a bit like Gallagher if Gallagher could skate, pass & create. He's fearless.
Really hope Calgary's pick gonna be 11th-12th we could trade up 2-3 ranks and get a very good prospect.

So Bergqvist has been on the ice for both Slovakia's goals. He was late getting to the man at the circle so the pass got through to the net front guy. The D in front of net was late to him. Goal.

It doesn't count in +/- as it was shorthanded.

Sweden wins 5-2.

I would say Bergqvist was OK. The very first game in WJC is always tough. It's fast & hungry. He needs to get his motor going. He's big, can skate & played a smart physical game. There's some tools for sure. Upside is probably a defensive D. Someone like Savard actually. He's another LD.

ASP has 3 goals & an assist for a 4 pt game.
