Who will get promoted and relegated?

Norway or Denmark are my bet for Promotion.
Relegated is most likely Hungary.

I think Denmark looks stronger than in a long time. Lots of players producing in J20 swedish leauge and top league in Denmark.

I still think Norway has more depth on both the back spots, and on the forward spots and will dominate their games, and #1 round draft picks like Michael Brandsegg Nygård and Stian Solberg. But goalkeeping is likely a weakness on this Team Norway.

I agree that Denmark and Norway have slightly advantage to advance, but will depend with which players they will come to Slovenia.

Austria has a good team too, as Rögle seems to be their home “club” in Sweden and gave also a lot players in Sweden. Also Slovenia can surprise, just don’t know why Borna Kopac never plays for them, as here in Sweden, he is among one of the skillest players with very high hockey sense. I would not write-off Hungary, but they look weakest here.

He is playing in Sweden for 6 years at least, surely he can simply apply for Swedish citizenship if there is a mutual interest. The only reason he wouldn't play for Slovenia is if he wants to preserve his eligibility. It's not rocket science.

maybe, but that would be very tricky, because here in Sweden, you don’t enter NT just like that. Quite a pressure from parents I imagine.

Estonia had an identical situation with Kombe not representing them until he was 19. Such situation is more common with dual nationals but also happens like this.

Of course, it is possible that he simply hates Slovenia or that his family has some big beef with the hockey federation, but that just seems less likely.

It is not that unlikely imo, maybe decline an early callup or two in a less than polite way due to whatever and then tight knit Slovenian inner circles retribute and here we are. I hope I am wrong though.

Just seems like too big of a beef when we are talking about a ~14-year-old child at the time. Just seems unlikely to me that there would be a situation where such irreconcilable differences arose.

First invites to camp are of "your child was invited" rather than "he must report" nature and it's quite common to miss those due to school, or illness, especially if playing abroad. Again, not an impossible scenario that they constantly refused and just stopped being invited that way but one would assume those feelings would be brushed aside for U18/U20 WJCs. Certainly, Slovenia's incentive to get him to represent them should be stronger than some petty "retribution" quest.

Austria lost big time against Denmark and by names, almost all Austrians were playing. Not a good prospect for coming wjc

Sagadin is not making our wjc team. There is many players ahead of him. Kopac is better than Sagadin, but neither Kopac would make our wjc team even if he wanted. Take a look at Swedish projected wjc team and tell me who Kopac would kick out.
