Danes used to be a really active part of this community, looks like no more, sadly

The bottom half, meanwhile, shook out exactly how I would have thought it would. Slovenia with a really nice group of quality prospects for their level. With the absolute best team (Podrekar, Kopac) and better goaltending (which they do not have), they could have challenged for the medal pretty seriously.

Yeah, he definitely didn’t pan out. I could have imagined him not becoming a star, but ending up in the Danish league? I didn’t see that coming. Still, those were fun times.

As for me, life has gotten a lot busier—two kids now, whereas I had none back then. I also didn’t enjoy how politicized the comment sections on many sub-forums became a few years back.
