Maybe it’s just me, but it feels like there’s a lack of star power this year. Maybe it’s just because Canada did such a piss poor job picking their roster.

Agree, there haven't been any truly eye opening performances this year. Except maybe the Finnish goalie.

And as I type this he gives up a gift, so.. (edit: on further review it was tipped and he didn't really have a chance at it)

Finns owned U.S. in first period ...score after 1 should have been 5vorv6vto1 not just 2 to 1...Thank Augustin and the Finns missing on to many scoring chances...they were flying and out-skating the U.S. and unleashed a bombardment on U.S.A. goal..

FINNS got 3rd goal to go up 3-1 ..but USA played better after that OR Finns took their feet off the gas into more cautious mode .
So USA outshooting the FINNS with just 2minutes+ left in period 2....
USA now up 21-17 in shots and Svoboda just scored..3-2 FInland still leads...US got a break on Svoboda's goal..hit Iron but bounced in instead of out..and with 28 seconds remaining Hutson scores...3-3 tie now..

After domination in period 1 the Finns gave up 2 late to let USA make it a 1 period game now..

FINNS will regret not pilingbup more goals in the barrage they put up in period 1.
And regret taking foot off the gas in period 2 and letting USA back inthe game ...

Cole Hutson is an absurd pick at 43. Which is why drafting these kids is such a crapshoot.
He's been very good in this game. I kind of see the light. Like his brother, going to be in tough as a pro if he ever loses half a step

Hutson is actually insane. He basically just teleports away from pressure its crazy to watch. I think he's been better than Zeev which is crazy to say considering how high I was on Zeev last year on draft day.

Aside from his goal, to me Hagens is clearly a bit in over his head in these close games. Isnt creating anything and just kind of fighting to just keep the play alive when he gets the puck. Expected from a draft eligible, but he does have that small+not super fast combo that has Bedard struggling a bit in the NHL....

His skating is phenomenal, but he reminds me of Kane with the way he sees the ice and anticipates defenders. He just makes things happen with the puck on his stick. I think he's going to be a good one.

But Leonard isca beast..going to be an instant star for Washington..

Augustine faced only 5 shots in 3rd period..but I think 3of them were goid scoring chances where he had to be sharp.

Just 1 shot can win the game..anything possible...in the phoney 3x3 game you moss on your chance it can go the other way and resukt in a goal..so do you attack with gustp and risk the turnover transition or do you plan cautious and only wait for a mistake on a fumble or bad pass to turn over the puck and get your best chance?

Do you go all out to end it fast or slow it down and stay patient to wait for a mistake?
