Post all Recruiting Announcements here for the 2025-26 season!
I haven't looked at LOI for ages. Most schools don't get commitments until later in the season???Per LOI Registry:
Mason Beaupit - G - Fayetteville (SPHL) - MacEwan University
James McDowall - Def - Soo (NOJHL) - RMC
Edouard Souliere - Fwd - Renfrew (CCHL) - RMC
Connor Prestwich - Fwd - Burlington (OJHL) - RMC
Per Twitter (thanks to @Lakeheadfan95 ):
Diego Da Silva - Fwd - Cobourg (OJHL) - RMC
RMC does not typically get early commitments like this, but they are not competing with NCAA Div I for Major Junior talent, so it's not surprising that they are the only program to have multiple commitments this early.
I was just going to say the exact same thing. The way it's worded on Xwitter makes me think that he is a 2nd half player. We'll see if he plays Friday at ACA.Not sure if this is for 2nd semester or next year but StFX announces the addition of Antonino Pugliese on Twitter.
I'm not knocking the guy, but the reason for him not going NCAA is that they didn't want him. Look at his OHL numbers and they're not stellar.I gotta say with all the questions in the air and the people I’ve run into who say “every Canadian is going to go play in the states now” (I’m well aware they are wrong) it is nice to see a guy commit who spent parts of 4 years in the OHL.
I think we will see more guys who don’t stick in the CHL as overages decide to go to the CIS.
Oh 100% , I’m just saying some people thing that every single guy who has attended a CHL training camp are headed to the NCAA. Could be these middle of the pack guys start heading to CIS a year early instead of playing Jr.A as overage guys.I'm not knocking the guy, but the reason for him not going NCAA is that they didn't want him. Yup. As I've said in the past, the guys that will go NCAA will have skill and academic smarts.Oh 100% , I’m just saying some people thing that every single guy who has attended a CHL training camp are headed to the NCAA. I’m definitely hopeful that allowing guys to play pro for a year will soften the blow. I still think from a purely hockey perspective they should just say F it and open the doors to anyone and like I said on the other thread , if Joe Pavelski wants to play, let him play but I also realize these are educational institutions and not revenue generating hockey teams.Yup. As I've said in the past, the guys that will go NCAA will have skill and academic smarts.
But middle-of-the-pack players will lower the caliber of CIS hockey, especially AUS and CW.
Dylan Ruptash - F - Whitecourt (AJHL) - Alberta
Looks that way. They show 3 OA's on their roster, so he got caught up in the numbers game.UNB adds former Blainville goalie Remi Delafontaine.
Will the Christmas break ECHL addition be replaced with the “CHL overager who gets squeezed out of a roster spot” addition?
His numbers are not NCAA worthy.Queen’s announced Thomas Sirman from Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL). Finally a CHL kid not going NCAA
No but he’s a pretty run of the mill CIS recruit in the past. I guess the question would be if he remains a run of the mill recruit or if this becomes a higher end recruit .His numbers are not NCAA worthy.
Looks like another casualty of the OA numbers game. Islanders are carrying 4 OA's.No but he’s a pretty run of the mill CIS recruit in the past. I guess the question would be if he remains a run of the mill recruit or if this becomes a higher end recruit .
I was assuming this was for next year . If that’s the case then it looks like this is the new Xmas trend . Not sure why it’s been so quiet on ECHL guys since the rule changes have no impact on them.. unless they are waiting on CIS rule changes to allow them to finish the year in pro …Anyone remember how many we saw last year leave the Coast?Looks like another casualty of the OA numbers game. Islanders are carrying 4 OA's.
Maybe more guys are smart enough not to go in the first place .We were talking to the family of an ex AUS player a while ago who made it seem like he wasn’t having very much fun riding the bus in the Coast, which is obviously not something we don’t already know around here …Just looked at Queens Xwitter and while it doesn't say either way, it looks like he is there now. Will have to wait for a game or 2 and look at box scores. I don't recall last year, but there weren't very many Coast guys at Christmas.
