2025 USports Recruiting

Per LOI Registry:
Mason Beaupit - G - Fayetteville (SPHL) - MacEwan University
James McDowall - Def - Soo (NOJHL) - RMC
Edouard Souliere - Fwd - Renfrew (CCHL) - RMC
Connor Prestwich - Fwd - Burlington (OJHL) - RMC

Per Twitter (thanks to @Lakeheadfan95 ):
Diego Da Silva - Fwd - Cobourg (OJHL) - RMC

RMC does not typically get early commitments like this, but they are not competing with NCAA Div I for Major Junior talent, so it's not surprising that they are the only program to have multiple commitments this early.

I haven't looked at LOI for ages. Most schools don't get commitments until later in the season???

And, thanks for starting this thread.

Not sure if this is for 2nd semester or next year but StFX announces the addition of Antonino Pugliese on Twitter.
I was just going to say the exact same thing. The way it's worded on Xwitter makes me think that he is a 2nd half player. We'll see if he plays Friday at ACA.

I gotta say with all the questions in the air and the people I’ve run into who say “every Canadian is going to go play in the states now” (I’m well aware they are wrong) it is nice to see a guy commit who spent parts of 4 years in the OHL.
I think we will see more guys who don’t stick in the CHL as overages decide to go to the CIS.

I'm not knocking the guy, but the reason for him not going NCAA is that they didn't want him. Look at his OHL numbers and they're not stellar.

Oh 100% , I’m just saying some people thing that every single guy who has attended a CHL training camp are headed to the NCAA. Could be these middle of the pack guys start heading to CIS a year early instead of playing Jr.A as overage guys.

Yup. As I've said in the past, the guys that will go NCAA will have skill and academic smarts.

But middle-of-the-pack players will lower the caliber of CIS hockey, especially AUS and CW.

I’m definitely hopeful that allowing guys to play pro for a year will soften the blow. I still think from a purely hockey perspective they should just say F it and open the doors to anyone and like I said on the other thread , if Joe Pavelski wants to play, let him play but I also realize these are educational institutions and not revenue generating hockey teams.

Dylan Ruptash - F - Whitecourt (AJHL) - Alberta

This is the type of Tier II player who used to join Alberta as a walk-on, not a recruit. If the Golden Bears are announcing this player this early, they are anticipating a sea change in the quality of player they will be attracting.
