I don't see what Gibson preferring to be a starter on a contending team rather than 1B on a crappy one has to do with a relationship with the front officeI feel like the relations between the FO and a handful of our players aren’t too good.

I'm not surprised to hear you feel that wayI don't see what Gibson preferring to be a starter on a contending team rather than 1B on a crappy one has to do with a relationship with the front office
Doesn't seem like you know eitherI'm not surprised to hear you feel that way
Wut. That's literally what my initial post was about - Youre just willfully ignoring the allegedly tone of those conversations.Doesn't seem like you know either
I asked you why you felt that way and rather than explaining you attacked my stance so I'm not sure what to take that as other than that you don't actually know whyWut. That's literally what my initial post was about - Youre just willfully ignoring the allegedly tone of those conversations.
I feel that way literally because of how Friedman characterized it and becuase of how negotiations with other players like Zegras and Drysdale have gone. now i'm sure you'll have a problem with that too because you aren't usually commenting in good-faith with matters regarding the coach and management.I asked you why you felt that way and rather than explaining you attacked my stance so I'm not sure what to take that as other than that you don't actually know why
You're now making the claim that a tough RFA negotiation process that every team goes through at one point or another is indicative of a bad relationship between the front office and the roster, if that isn't a bad faith claim I don't know what isI feel that way literally because of how Friedman characterized it and becuase of how negotiations with other players like Zegras and Drysdale have gone. now i'm sure you'll have a problem with that too because you aren't usually commenting in good-faith with matters regarding the coach and management.
Of course this is the case. The dude is out with a phantom injury. He literally got ran into and not violently or anything, on a very innocent looking play. Gibson imho is just sitting out on his own. I’m tired of his bs tbhUnfortunately I don’t doubt it.
Gibson should’ve been moved years ago for a definitive backup, prospect and or picks.
Verbeek comes across as an arrogant SOB anyway. He’ll probably flip him for a conditional 3rd and a college prospect who nobody has heard about
Ever since verbeek said he likes to hunt peasants on his farm I haven’t liked him. Little stubborn punk he isUnfortunately I don’t doubt it.

If he was willing to do that Gibson would've been moved alreadyHe’ll probably flip him for a conditional 3rd and a college prospect who nobody has heard about
If one is expecting any of the Ducks drafting an elite prospect in this draft, Marner or Ehlers signing with the Ducks, the team getting a new coach, or Strome or Killorn being on the 4th line next season then yeah I would say they're likely going to end up disappointedAnyone else have a sense of dread that this summer could be horrible for us? We may win just enough have to drop out of that next tier of prospects or reach for someone in a weak draft. Verbeek will try to take a swing at a legit top 6 forward and if he misses, overpay a middling player and rush Sennecke to the NHL (or worse, overpay in a trade). Then to cap it off, he'll bring Cronin back on a multi year deal (assuming his contract is up). Hopefully that sense is just from having a bad weekend combined with the game from yesterday.
In an ideal world, he lands that top 6 forward, Sennecke is ready for the NHL, and the Ducks get a good coach. Push Killorn and Strome down to the 4th line and add a physical presence for that line and run with 4 lines that can play hockey.
I don’t get this sense at all, and I’m not an eternal optimist either. Verbeek is going to be very aggro with his decision making going forward. He likes his job is my guess. Also, the team finally sees they are officially out of it. And apart from a few good random games down the stretch, the team is mailing it in on the coaching staff. They are career athletes, they know to a man when they are being lead by fools who can’t get it done.Anyone else have a sense of dread that this summer could be horrible for us? If none of those things happen then what exactly is Pat doing in the offseason? Sitting on his ass like the TDL and just expecting the thing that didn’t work this season to suddenly work next season? If one is expecting any of the Ducks drafting an elite prospect in this draft, Marner or Ehlers signing with the Ducks, the team getting a new coach, or Strome or Killorn being on the 4th line next season then yeah I would say they're likely going to end up disappointed

I'm not expecting those, just said ideally. My expectations are that the Ducks draft a decent prospect (probably a guy that no one saw coming, has a good season next year, becomes a good but not great player). I don't expect a big free agent, but probably more like the Dumo/Fabbri trades... maybe slightly bigger. Or an overpay for a lower tier forward. Realistically, my hope is a better coach next year.If one is expecting any of the Ducks drafting an elite prospect in this draft, Marner or Ehlers signing with the Ducks, the team getting a new coach, or Strome or Killorn being on the 4th line next season then yeah I would say they're likely going to end up disappointed

That feeing already happened for me this summer.
He talked a big game about pushing for a top-six talent. In typical ducks fashion, day one of Free Agency came and he went out with a whimper. This team just needs so much help overall. Scoring, Toughness, Intensity to name a few. This team is just way too easy to play against sometimes.
Maybe he might be onto something with cooking some of our prospects in the minors. Luneau, Hinds, Gaucher are a few that are exciting going forward.
Can’t deal with Cronin much longer. Questionable hire in the first place
If you start now it will likely make it easier when that day comesOne thing I absolutely struggle with: as much as I detest Cronin, when a new coach comes in and the young guys explode offensively, are we forced to give Cronin some credit?
