Nashville claimed him first. Stillman is on waivers today, I expect us to put in a claim if we don’t acquire someone before then.Jordan Oesterle was waived yesterday, he'd be fine as a 7th Dman pick up

I believe the ducks are in eighth spot as of right now by percentageWhere can we find the waiver order? We really need to pick a dman up ASAP.
Verbeek sending a clear message today, he wants zell and minty both in the lineup+ he’s disappointed with the recent losses.Maybe I'm also incompetent, but their path to playoffs was pretty much shut off last night.
Not only was it a game against a fellow contender for the final playoff spot, but they're running out of racetrack. They're arguably farther out of the playoffs because they now have less opportunity to make up the ground. It's not just that they're still 6 points out - they would have to leapfrog four other teams.
For me, it's as much about the feeling behind these last three games. The one win they had (which was a fantastic game) came arguably against the one team they didn't need to beat. They laid an egg with a poor effort in a game they needed to win against Chicago. And while they gave a solid effort in Vancouver last night, they just didn't have enough gas in the tank.
These next few games are still "meaningful" in that they're not totally eliminated from contention. But barring a miracle, it's about over.
Damn, so it's not like fantasy hockey where if the team makes a selection, they go down to the bottom of the waivers list? It's purely standings? So, Blackhawks/Sharks get first dibs for every waiver? Damn, that's gonna be make it less likely for us to pick up a decent waiver.I believe the ducks are in eighth spot as of right now by percentage
Verbeek has a right to be upset about the Chicago game but the team played well enough last night and just didn't get the breaks.Verbeek sending a clear message today, he wants zell and minty both in the lineup+ he’s disappointed with the recent losses.
We were outshot 18-4 in the first period.Verbeek has a right to be upset about the Chicago game but the team played well enough last night and just didn't get the breaks.
That was my initial reaction as well. But not completely sure. Rats definitely is a picky dude. You would think a very money only hungry dude would welcome la and that type of life style. Maybe he just hates the kings like the rest of us. I have this feeling that verbeek may try and add someone like Brock Nelson instead of a big home run swing via ratsseems unlikely that he would sing with the Ducks if LA is a "No".
That was my first thought too. Although I'd take Newport Beach over Manhattan, Hermosa or Redondo.seems unlikely that he would sing with the Ducks if LA is a "No".

Maybe he just doesn't want to be associated with a lame ass franchise like LA or on a team full of dbag players like the Kings? He probably just doesn't want to play in front of the self-entitled, arrogant fans at Staples Center (it'll always be Staples).seems unlikely that he would sing with the Ducks if LA is a "No".
This was my thought. They’ll be going into a rebuild within 3 years. We will hopefully be well out by then.Maybe likes our direction better, I know I do
This would have to be an upgrade on Johnston, right? At least he’d be mean.

We would have 3-4 elite seasons from him most likely. And then each year, he would decline some. I don’t know. I mean, these types of players don’t become available that often, and to boot at the same time where the rebuild window is closing and the next chapter is beginning. Verbeek may see this as his chance to really put a stamp on his team. At the very least it’s clear that if we us ratenen this season. We would definitely be in a playoff spot. Verbeek may see making the playoffs next season as his ticket to breathe easier as our Gm.I can't even imagine what a signed Rantanen would cost in terms of both assets and dollars but I'm not sure I'd want to pay the price today given he'll be 29 shortly after the 25-26 season starts.
I just don’t get it. I like enforcers. But I want one who either legit enforces, or one who goes out and at least hits everything that moves legally. Johnston is good for doing one of the two every 10-20 games, when he has the ability to do both. Frustrating. That was my gut reaction. But maybe verbeek likes Johnston a lot who knows
But does he hit things? I’d take the physical wear on the other team;s defensemen over what Johnston brings too much of the time.He may actually be worse as a hockey player
Neither would be here to play hockey, TBH.He may actually be worse as a hockey player
