25 years ago, damn... I was waking up getting ready for school, I remember hearing about the trade on the radio, I'd only been following hockey for about 2 years but even I knew getting Ray Bourque would be legendary

And in retrospect, what a paltry package - Ray Bourque and Dave Andreychuk for Brian Rolston, Samuel Pahlsson, Martin Grenier and a 1st rounder

Has anyone really claimed he's easy to negotiate with? I personally always just argued that he was not any more difficult than other players, notably the captain of this team.

I don't blame Mikko for being hesitant to sign. No matter how big the offer is, it hasn't been great in Carolina for the first month and now he's supposed to make an 8 year commitment based on that? When he can basically pick any team in 4 months, and still get paid handsomely.

I remember this trade very well. I just came back from the Pepsi Center after watching the Avs play and turned on ESPN. I saw the ticker and it said "Ray Bourque and Dave Andreychuk traded to ... " and then it got stuck for what seemed like forever. The rest was history.

I'm in Orlando with the wife and kids. Wife said we are doing Magic Kingdom on Friday.

I convinced my wife that we should do Magic Kingdom tomorrow(Thursday) instead of Friday. I told her the weather doesn't look great for Friday so we should just do stuff around the resort that day.

The weather for Friday currently calls for complete sunshine.

Now I can sit around the pool on my phone following trade deadline stuff all day Friday.

This is the right call regardless of the TDL. As someone that lived in Orlando for many years, my parents and brother still love there, it's much better to go to a popular theme park like Magic Kingdom on a Thursday as opposed to Friday. Fridays-Saturdays-Sundays are death traps at the parks IMO. Too many people and too many lines.

That said, you're going at a good time regardless since it's a little "cooler" than if you had gone in the Summer or something.

Not extending Kadri was the death blow that keeps on giving. That single move imploded the contention window.

Few months of bad play doesn't erase what he did the last 2 years. You don't give up a young cost controlled centre for a guy turning 35 this year. Kadri falls off a cliff next year and we're stuck with a horrendous contract.

Just let the Kadri thing go. Imagine you didn't sign the guy because you're afraid of the backend of the contract but get him back after he burned 2 of his prime years so you can be stuck with the backend of his deal LMFAO
