I talk plenty of shit on Aj, but that's an easy observation if Gourde is off the board.
I dont believe Gourde moves the needle for the Avs. He's a 3rd line player at this point and he can't help on the 2nd line.

I could see that kind of statement if Nelson and ROR had already been traded...but Gourde? Last time I saw him he was playing 3rd line wing.

I would've loved to see this boards reaction if Cmac gave up 5 draft picks for Tanner Jeannot.
Sometimes you miss, what matters is that you do stuff. That's why I like CMac. And that's why I appreciate Tampa. They know how this is done, they are probably on the tail end of their cup window, at least in a few years. So who gives a f*** about some 1st rounders, if they are going to help you 4-6 years down the road when your window is already closed?

What I like is that this makes the Toronto fans and media seethe, what are the odds of Treliving doing anything close to what Florida and Tampa have done so far and might still do leading to the deadline.

Tampa knows who they want and they tend to keep their guys long term. Hagel, and Paul were slam dunk trades. Obviously we know the dud trade they made. The Stamkos debacle was shrewd and brilliant. Their GM is similar to ours where he's not scared to pony up for guys with term or RFAs.

Tampa now has a pretty formidable top nine. **** futures, the time is now. Same with our team.

We all know that you never make any eye popping, mind blowing, cool as f*** deals at the deadline, CMac. But could you do it this year, please? Nelson, Tuch, Nelson and Tuch! Trade everything you have to because we all know Ritchie is gonna Newhook, and the Russian d-man isn't coming over anytime soon. Just blow our minds, man.
Huge difference between the diminutive Newhook and Ritchie. Why trade the best prospect the Avs have? 67 points in 41 games and a +33. 20 years old, 6'2" and 190 lbs. Makes zero sense.

On a side note - can we afford to lose our "Woody?"

Are those stats some kind of flex? Minimal improvement to no improvement from last years point totals and was dog shit in the WJC. Another stalled out pick from the Avs. No one could have predicted that.

Gee, if those are lousy stats, I'll take em. Way too premature - - like many things you do.

Holy shit this place would erupt into chaos if we traded two first-roundrs, a 2nd rounder and Parker Kelly for those guys

Cue the posters freaking out because "Cmac didn't do anything" even though it's Wednesday and not Friday at 5pm ET
I mean maybe... Idk how washed Gourde is yet. But Mack-Mitts-Gourde-Drury would be far better than Mack-Mitts-Drury-Kelly.

Plus Bjorkstrand would some desperately needed goal scoring ability in our lineup. It's a steep price, but if Gourde is still a 3C level guy it would easily be worth it.

Geez, what's all this love for Gourde? He's not the player he was and he's coming back from a major injury. Not aging like a fine wine. Great move by Seattle in off loading Gourde at this stage of his career for the price they received.
