I don’t get Yzerman.

Prob 3 assets. 1st + prospect + NHL ready player

Detroit has a ton of space, and techncally needs to spend more to max out Copp's LTIR if they go that route. May as well snag a pick out of it.

Tampa's management is probably the best in the league.

f*** those picks, we're trying to win right now. I hope you're paying attention cMac.
Push every chip in to get both Nelson and Tuch.

Geez, what's all this love for Gourde? He's not the player he was and he's coming back from a major injury. Not aging like a fine wine. Great move by Seattle in off loading Gourde at this stage of his career for the price they received.
Where in my post was I gushing over Gourde?

Wennberg plays nothing like Gourde, they're like the complete opposite type of players.
thanks, I'm aware.
when did we get short on mid 6 grinders/bangers?
I thought we were griping about secondary scoring types this week. Both guys scoring about the same clip last 2 years hence the dollar store tag

It's the way they get their points
Gourde - playoffs 42 points in 83 games
Wennberg - playoffs 19 points in 58 games

Say whatever you want... I f***ing love Tampas all in attitude every year.

I wish we didn't pick in the first round until 2028 after this Friday.

I dont even think the price is that bad. Bjorkstrand isnt a rental and is essentially a 60 point winger.

It's basically a 1st + 2nd for Bjork, and a 1st for Gourde. The 1st for Gourde is probably where the overpay comes from, but we're essentially talking a 1st vs 2nd in value issues... Once you factor in the 75% retention and Tampa getting a 5th back it isn't bad at all.

"But Mack-Mitts-Gourde-Drury would be far better than Mack-Mitts-Drury-Kelly.

Plus Bjorkstrand would some desperately needed goal scoring ability in our lineup. It's a steep price, but if Gourde is still a 3C level guy it would easily be worth it."

OK - maybe not "gushing," but definitely "enchanted." I don't think Gourde is worth the price Tampa paid. And it would have been a huge mistake for the Avs to overpay for him. We shall see.

I'm not sure CMac is even capable getting multiple teams involved to retain 75% of a contract. Nor does he have the you know what to make that kind of impact trade at the deadline.

CMac wouldn't dream of 2 1sts being traded even it meant increasing the chances this year.

Bruh he just traded one of the franchises greatest players like a month ago… he has balls

You've got to think if Nashville is scouting our roster this hard they're trying to decide if a ROR & Mitts swap makes sense.

I want Tuch and ROR sooo bad now. Hey Tampa, hold my beer.

One of Nashville’s top dogs in their pro scouting department has posted himself up in Denver for the duration of the current Avalanche homestand up to the trade deadline on Friday afternoon. This naturally raises the question of whether the Avs can right a wrong of the previous generation and bring Ryan O’Reilly back to Denver. O’Reilly’s credentials as a top-line center seem to be expired, but the Avs already have that position handled, as you might know. The Avs would have more interest in O’Reilly as either the 2C or 3C, but Nashville has not been in a hurry to move him. He’s signed for two more years at a reasonable $4.5M, so the Predators can afford to slow-play this. Their lack of urgency here has put this on Colorado’s backburner for now.

Yes this TBL/SEA trade could set the market OR it could be like Jeannott and Hagel where TBL was an outlier overpaying to get what they wanted.

I mean objectively that would be an improvement over what we have. Gourde obviously isn’t in his prime, but is still pacing for 40pts over a full season and(at least per Evolving hockey) he’s been fantastic defensively this year.

And moving Drury to 4C would be a far better utilization of him and far better than having Parker at 4C. And adding a shoot first 20 goal scorer to the top 9 would be great.

Like I said, it’s expensive but if better that would add some much improved depth and quality to the team.
