I just want to say that, IMO, if CMac doesn't plan to use the rest of his cap space at this deadline, I hope he brokers some cap retention as a 3rd party (just on expiring deals) to recoup a draft pick or two.

Don't get me wrong the guy can absolutely chuck 'em, but he is as 4th line as it gets. To pay 3M for that is wild. I know the cap is rising but this is not a good contract and sets a bad precedent IMO.

Yeah, that makes no sense for the Avs. So they trade their 2C for no replacement, then for a 3C, who has been trending downwards for a few years, and end up with two 3Cs and a 4C? Dumb.
