The talk of interest in Frederick and Coyle sounds like they are targeting centers. Not necessarily full time 2C's, but guys that could play 2C if needed, or 3C or wing.

More supporting the idea they may keep Mitts and supplement him with other options. Especially if Ritchie was involved in what was going the other way.

If Nelson is set on signing with Minnesota in the off season, I'm not sure I want to give up much for him. The hope would be he plays well and re-signs, not leaves as a pure rental.

That 3 team trade with Mitts and Zegras sounds wild. If true, I wonder who the C going to Colorado was? Bennett? Zegras goes to Florida?

Carlo is interesting. I think he could be a good fit in a pure shutdown role, but I wonder if he has the puck skills to move the puck in transition like needed from all the Avs D men? With Lindgrenon on the team, I wonder where he would fit too? Manson has more offense in him than Carlo, so that seems like he'd stay in the top 4. I wonder if Carlo is no longer a target after they acquired Lindgren?

Either way, I like that they're looking at a 2C and a RD. That's what they need.

Meh. It's Pius Suter. The Stars have already been spending their cap on guys like Granlund, Ceci, and now Suter. If they spend more and it keeps them away from bigger fish, I'm good with it.

Then they can re-evaluate in the summer. If Mitts rebounds down the stretch and in the playoffs you keep him. If he doesn't really rebound, you move him in the summer and recoup most of the assets given up to get Nelson...

Then, you can either re-sign Nelson if he proves to be a good fit, or you use all that cap space to go get someone in free agency.


I doubt we'd have to give up Ritchie to get Nelson fwiw. 2026 1st + 2025 2nd, with a + along the lines of a Max Curran, maybe Will Zellers(Though even that I think would be more then it would take).

Yes this is Foppa. I've taken a back seat with my Crocs empire and I have more free time now.

You missed the best one. So will the real Foppa please stand up. Chris Simon (RIP) who not only was a superb enforcer but an excellent hockey player who could score goals. I remember a game at old McNichols Arena where a player took liberties with "Peter the Great" during one play. His very next shift, on to the ice strolls Chris Simon. He skated to the boards where the offending player was and as they were making their way up the ice, he flattened him with a vicious elbow. Penalty to Simon and the "abuser" was absent the rest of the game like a speck in your rear view mirror.
