Kypreos:

"Crosby, MacKinnon, and Marchand playing on Colorado is real and the only thing stopping it is them (the players) deciding they want it. The Avs would do it....Marchand is out week to week but we know Colorado is knocking on that door.....Sid knows he has an open invitation, just give them the word."

Real Kyper and Bourne
Shit kick the Pens so bad that Crosby wants to switch teams 10 minutes into the game

I'm so excited for Sid these next few days will be so fun to wait for him but man that deadline clock hitting will hurt bad.

It'll probably never happen but if it does it would likely be an offseason move. Pretty much everyone, including Kypreos, have said he's not moving in season.

Oh I know, just like to give you a hard time haha.

I’d laugh if we trade for Marchand soon. The anticipation around getting Sid would drive this board insane.
Honestly, what is Crosby gonna do? I know he won everything, but he still has ton of game left in him, and by staying in Pittsburgh, it’s pretty much a guaranteed he will just waste his last few years and be frustrated every one of those few years. Why not just go to Avs, at very least still compete at biggest stage, possibly win another cup, then go back to Pittsburgh and retire there? Marchand I can see being more of a possibility, but we have too many wingers

I have no doubt he has compete left but loyalty and legacy will keep him there, at least for the foreseeable future imo.

I wonder if CMac has even picked up a phone and called Dubas to see if there is any chance Crosby would consider a trade. Or you don’t even do that out of respect to Sid, and if Sid wants to be traded, he will let the GM know

The only way I see the Avs trading Ritchie is if they acquire a long-term #2C. Otherwise, I think they are keeping him so that he can eventually become that.

There's no way they are moving him for a rental.

No he doesn't!

He looks like a 50 year old McLovin' who's coming off his 5th divorce (she took everything)...
Methinks the gentleman doth protest too much!

How many more years Crosby has in him to play at high level? I’m thinking probably 2 or 3 more, I think 3 max. He probably won’t be a PPG player in 2 or 3 years though. So if there is any chance of him being traded to a contender, it needs to be now

Here's my key takeaways from CMac's recent presser.

Ryan Lindgren

"Ryan, obviously he's been a key part of the Ranger back end for a number of years. I think the warrior mentality is what kinda draws you into him. He's an experienced big game player. He's been a key cog on some very good Ranger teams. So I think we've been looking to add another guy that can gobble up some minutes. I think the way we'll deploy him, we think with the bite that he adds, the sandpaper, the hard to play against, a little bit of the ratty component, is something that our sauce needed."

"Bedsy's got a lot of ways he can use him. He can use him with Cale. He can use him with Josh. He can mix and match with Malinski and Kylington. You can get him on the penalty kill and hopefully take some minutes away from you know, some of our top guys who are pushing big big minutes every single night. So that was sort of the thought process."

"The analytics part, we have an awesome department ourselves here. There's sometimes things that we think we can separate some noise and hopefully we'll get a positive player. But we'll bet on the character of Ryan Lindgren every day of the week."

Jimmy Vessey

"He brings good value. He's a guy that Bedsy can use on a second line, third line, fourth line, and he can plug and mix and max, and penalty kill. He's a decent size guy too and he's got some big game experience as well. So he's a good depth add for us and you're gonna need it. You guys all know. You're gonna need it if you're fortunate enough to grab a spot and try to get through the battle that we all know the playoffs can be."

Hank Kempf

"It's just simply a guy we had good reports on, that our guys like, and we were able to get him in the deal. Obviously we've had Matthew Steinberg rip through Cornell and Sam Malinksi. So it's a school that we had a lot of direct, specific looks at our own guy, when our development team was in there, and then watching a free agent like Sam, and you get a lot of shrapnel viewings, and this guy kept coming to us. We think he can skate, he's got decent size, you know he's a guy here that maybe's gonna be ready to turn pro soon. I don't think the fact that he's ready to turn pro is sort of the indicitvie factor of trying to get him. I think we just liked him and we were able to get him in the deal. So we'll se where it goes here in the next few weeks, but we like him."

Mittelsdadt - Asked about Casey and Lindgren's friendship

"Casey we all saw what he did last year, at the end of the year, and into a tough playoff series against Winnipeg, and then Dallas, and then the start of this year was really good hockey. So we definitely need to see that version of Casey and I'm confident that we will. Those Minnesota guys stick together obviously. I think bringing Ryan in, if that is a spark for Casey, or him, all the better for the Avalanche."

Landeskog Update

"Gabe continues to rehab. I think things are, you know he's doing good, he's grinding hard every single day, but I don't foresee him joining practice in the next day or two or week or two here. So I think you guys can figure out where this is kinda going, but hopefully it'll keep going well."

Asked if his comments are a sign he might not play this year.

"Yeah, there's a chance. I mean obviously I can't predict the future, but he continues to rehab. He's not practicing with the team yet. It's 2.5 years and you're not practicing with the team in early March. We're gonna continue to take it week by week here, but he is grinding, he's doing everything he can. It's just I didn't think June 26th, 2022, the injury would be three years. So there is no playbook here. We'll just continue to chip away at it, and he's doing everything he can. That I know. So we'll see where it goes."

Talked a bit about how difficult it must be on Gabe, then...

"For me I hope it's gonna happen for him, but obviously it's been a while. But if anybody can do it I think it's Gabriel Landeskog. I think not only me, Bedsy, our players, our organization, I think the hockey world wants to see it. You wanna see him get back out there and see how he can do. I think everybody's behind him."

Jared Bednar

"I'm highly biased on this. I think Jared is one of the best at what he does in sports, let alone hockey. The way he connects with our players of all different personalities. You know Nathan, Cale, right on down to the respect for players that come up from the minors. The way he communicates and handles different circumstances. We are very fortunate to have him as the head coach here. Again I'm biased, but I think he does a dynamite job day in and day out."

Additional Moves

“It’s no secret that we had to try and get deeper, both upfront and on the backend. I don’t think we’re totally satisfied. If we can still find a way to improve the team, we’ll try. How, I don’t know. We’ve obviously used some draft capital, and things of that sort, but I think we’re deeper.”
Is this truly "Foppa?" If so, two questions to reveal your true identity: (1) Who was the best protector for you during the Avs Stanley Cup run? (An easy one.) (2) What was the nickname that some of the Detroit Red Wings gave you?

The Avs have to find a way to get Brock Nelson on this team. Casey is not going to suddenly perform because he has friends joining him on the team. He stinks. He's a mediocre 3rd line center. Punt him.
Lou being Lou - - it will be difficult. Lou always thinks he has the upper hand and he sh!ts caviar. So I'm not hopeful on getting Nelson. I'd focus on the back end with Ristolainen. More toughness needed on "D."

I will never understand why if Sid did not want to have a good finish in Pitt he did not take a trade deadline deal as his last contract was expiring to a contender and let Pitt add a roster player and a whole bunch of futures, and then go sign back with the Pens.

He could have gone had a fun playoff run somewhere for a few weeks, maybe win a cup, then come back to a team with an added player or two and some hopefully close future players or at least assets to make future deals.

I was thinking like ok maybe Coyle for the playoff run would be good, he's big and goes to dirty areas and has a mean streak, but then I saw he's signed through next season with a 5.25 million cap hit. That's probably not worth it even if he came cheaply and with some retention.

Too old, too expensive, and too much term remaining.
What? He makes like 4.5 for 3 more years. You get them to retain like 1-1.25M and it's easily doable almost without moving anyone. Saying we can't afford him is just a lie.

That being said, want nothing to do with him.
