What kind of 4C puts up 40 points per season like Laughton has done the past two seasons? He’s a very good 3C.
Two-way guy. A lot more jam than Mitts.
@Pierce Hawthorne really likes Drury and is happy with him at 3C.

I love Drury but if we’re sticking with Mittelstadt as our 2C, we better have somebody at 3C who’s capable of putting up more than Drury’s pace of 19 points over 82 games this year between Carolina and Colorado.

Drury is on pace for like 19 points, that’s not a 3C production. He’s a 4C

19 or 20 point pace for Drury and struggling Mitts, I’m sorry but we won’t go far with that center depth if Mitts is the 2C and Drury the 3C. We need an upgrade to at least one if not both. Drury is fine as a 4C

Don’t want Drury at 3C, just not enough there. But I’d love him at 4C and long term at that position. I really like his game. Just not enough to have him be anything but 4C.
I do think we need a 3C if we're not getting a clear 2C, but what is his pace since the trade?

Drury has 3 points in 12 games for us since the trade. That’s a 20 point pace

I think Drury has 3C capability, but he isn't really showing it this year. So, if no 2C, A 3C would be just fine. Or if you get a 2C and don't move Mitts in the deal, you still kind of do the same thing.

I dislike Dreger because I think he does what I said earlier: he talks a lot without actually giving out any info or facts. And not like the other insiders don't do this, but they are very much more clear about what they think could happen, or what is their opinion about something etc. Dreger loves to be a mouthpiece for certain agents too.
Also, I said earlier that Dreger is my least favourite insider. Check that, Seravalli is. He used to be much better at this stuff too. Remember how he got the entire Seattle expansion draft before anyone else? That was his high note, and it has been downhill from there. Not only has his star as an insider gone down, with his own platform he's also able to inject more of his personal opinions on stuff and I find a lot of that just is bad/wrong.
From the regular ones, LeBrun is the best IMO. He's not the most active, but I like the way he does his stuff. Less is more, and detail is better than volume.
That just doesn't feel right.. well he is definitely LOC as a center lol.
That last goal was Malkin level though.

We don't need a 3C putting up 40 points when you have Mack and Makar.
And you can't afford a high scoring 3C when you have Mack and Makar.
A defensive, face-off guy is who you want and can afford at 3C, and that's exactly who the Avs have.
Some of ya'll need to be more realistic of the cap.. ya, like give me Mack, Crosby, and McDavid as 3C than I'll finally be happy.

Yup, if we can somehow upgrade our 2nd and 3rd lines, LOC and Drury would make a very good 4th line

Laughton returning a 1st potentially? I mean in this market, you havs to send Colton's ass out immediately (to NJ) and recoup assets to send a more competitive offer for Nelson.

Today's EDM/NJ trade was also pretty embarrasing for Seravalli LMAO. First Frank tweets out it's Max Jones going to Edmonton, and a minute later Friedman (and the rest of the insiders) tweets out it's Frederic.

That’s maybe true for the regular season, but in the playoffs you do need more depth scoring from forwards when you going against deep teams, and scoring becomes harder.
If lets say we’re going against Dallas or Vegas, they shutdown or limit MacK and Makar, and then we have a struggling 2C like Mitts and a 4th line center playing 3C, we likely losing the series
