I highly disagree.Nah, 3RD and 3RW aren't necessary for "a realistic chance"--have you seen the West lately?
There's very little the team can do outside of acquiring Crosby that would make them favorites in the West, but I think even with the roster as currently constructed, there is still an outside chance if healthy, coke-free, and players play to their level
If Frederic is healthy for the playoffs, and he should be, it's a good add for themA currently injured Frederic and NHL/AHL tweener Jones.
Atta boy, Bowman.
AHLerI don't even know who Max Jones is.
The last thing the Oilers need is more forwards. If Frederic is healthy for the playoffs, and he should be, it's a good add for them

Can't have too much sandpaper for a deep playoff run.The last thing the Oilers need is more forwards.
Every last asset they have should be used to upgrade defense and goaltending. Not add to an already deep forward corps.
Plays Basketball for KSucksI don't even know who Max Jones is.
They need a "good" forward. Not a bunch of 4th liners. The last thing the Oilers need is more forwards.

Now that Mitts got his friends added to the team we should really do the same for MacK since he lost his bff Rantanen…Could you please will an Avs trade into existance next?
isn’t acquiring another RD just as, if not more important than RW, in terms of getting sufficient depth?I highly disagree.
In 2022, the Avs traded for Lehkonen for their 3rd line. Changed the entire dynamic. Because when Burakovsky went down, Lehkonen picked up the slack.
That year, we had Rantanen, 60 point Burakovsky, Landeskog and Nuke as top 6 wingers.
The AVS should add Nelson and another top winger. They won’t, because it’ll cost too much. But that’s what they need IMO to make a legit run.
Bednar would lose his shit if the Avs got him.I'd be ecstatic if Colorado added Bjorkstrand to the 3rd line.
Adjacent discussion, but I have liked the Colton/Drury/Kivi third line that was assembled two games ago. Unlike Wood, who is more of a banger, Kivi is more of a grinder who's really good along the boards. He's strong at retrieving the puck, which is why I think we've seen promising (small sample size) results from that line; 71% corsi (27/11) so far, along with the 2 goals.
Colton drives me nuts with his effort, but he has 15 goals and Kivi has 11. That's not horrible third line production (as long as we don't compare to the Gold Standard in Dallas).
