Soft Trey. Our off the rush control has been trash though. We are backing in way too much making it easy for Finland to attack the zone with speed

Yep. Everyone wants to make a highlight reel play instead of the right play

Every single time we put the puck on net good things happen. Frustrating that the team is so hesitant to take that approach whereas Finland is doing it every shift

Both goalies look shaky so far but Finland is capitalizing because they're playing North/South with a simple goal that we've failed to embrace this tournament: puck on net.

On the one hand, we're only down one and we looked awful that period. So hopefully they wake up. On the other hand the worst we've looked this tournament is against Finland and unless we start playing simple, decisive hockey, I'm not sure it changes.

Couldn’t get speed at all. For exactly two shifts at the 11 min mark, we started flying a wing and got odd rushes. Then never did it again. Need to do something to generate speed.

By god that's pirouettes music. When we played simple we had some dominant shifts. Problem is we did that a handful of times that period. Finland did it every shift.

The good news is after witnessing the 2022 national championship game I trust David Carle unequivocally with in game adjustments

Carle and staff have been good about this in crunch time these past two tournaments, so hopefully the same tonight, but this is not the game to give the guys too long to figure it out. Shorten the bench, send messages, and roll with the guys ready to give it their all. Some guys look overwhelmed with the moment right now (i.e., Stiga)

Finland just played much harder in that period. Disappointing that they could get out-efforted so badly in the first period of a gold medal game. Only down a single goal with plenty of time left, but they'll need to play with a lot more energy than they've shown so far...
