Linus Eriksson lost his spot? 0 games so far.
Almost like he's injured, eh? ;)

Pretty hard to guess the team this year, I guess something like this sounds ok, I would really like FUS at center, though:

Stenberg - Edstrom - FUS
Wahlberg - Frondell - Eklund
Vuollet - L.Pettersson - A.Zetterberg
Berglund - Eriksson - Träff
Fernström/NDN/Nordlund/etc.

Lindstein - Willander
Landén - ASP
Leo - Annborn
Fransén

I forgot Wilander 🤣

Good call on Härenstam. Perfekt to have as a 3rd keeper.

Now more depth at C, and Frondell should be ready to be on the first line.

Herman Träff 2 points in 3 HA games and 1 point 1 game in SHL.

Linus Eriksson lost his spot? 0 games so far.

Right now i would go with;

Stenberg - Edstrom - Sörum
Vuollet - Dower Nilsson - Wahlberg
Eklund - Zether - Fernström
Hugo Pettersson - Forsfjäll - Träff
Genborg

Sundqvist - Pellikka
Lindstein - Wilander
Sahlin Wallenius - Landen
Fransén

Unless he has plays real bad whenever he comes back I would take Eriksson over all players you put at center except Edstrom. Dower Nilsson at 2C gives me backpain, north americans would give us flashbacks of the early 1700s war against Russia if thats our plan. Coaching staff would be deeply unserious if Frondell wasn't there. I know people suddenly loves Genborg because of his playstyle, but having him as the 07 representant would absolutely bizarre, several better players. Haven't seen much of the SHL/Allsvenskan so far, but would be surprised if some of these players were picked over e.g. Nordh. I don't see what others see in Fernström to think he is a non 4th-liner on this team at best, Lucas Pettersson has been a better player so far in their careers. I know he is inconsistent and sometimes chaotic, but I rate Freij higher than LSW as well.

EDIT: thought this was the latest post on the thread, turns out it was the last on page 3, which was why I spent this much time riffing on it, without knowing there were more responses. Nevermind me.

Does Ivar Stenberg have a chance to make this team?
My wet dreams never become reality, so no.

We may lack the likes of Östlund and Lekkerimäki this year but in my opinion this team is a bit stronger due to the overall depth.
I'm almost there as well. Defensively I think we might be better, assuming who ever starts in net does a good job. Still, it's probably going to be noticeably that some of the more skilled forwards, both that make the team and don't, are underagers. If they decide to keep the Stenberg-Edstrom-Sörum line from last year together, they will have a looot of responsibility. It really helped that those guys were our 3rd line coming into last years tournament.

Frondell has been injured alot and not shown anything at senior level. He needs to play good in HA to take a spot. Unheard of that a J-20 player gets a spot.

Correct, and that is concerning.

Incorrect. He looked good in the games he played before getting injured last year. He looked good in this preseason, before getting injured again. Assuming he gets back later this month, he will have time to get into shape and get all the reps he needs. Off course, if he spends the entirety of November being subpar and enters December looking like a shell of himself, that's an entirely different discussion.

I mean, this feels just feels very cherrypicked considering he was injured. He was playing preseason with the mens team, with the purpose of being on the mens team, and doing very well with the mens team in the short time he had before the last injury as well. Seems weird to consider him a "j20 player" when ASP and Lekkerimäki both played more junior than senior games in their draft seasons and got a spot at the WJC. Keep in mind that Frondell is more talented than both were at the same age. Again, if he isn't absolutely ruined by the injury or takes a very long time to recover to his previous level, fair enough. But its just unserious to consider omitting him for low-ceiling players like Hugo Pettersson or Melvin Fernström. Both of which are actually still playing junior games, btw. We don't have a lack of these huff and puff players filling roster spots, we have a lack of elite talent providing impact.
