Pinelli back with McKenna and Catton tonigh apparently. Dave Cameron just never learns does he, he’s hurting the only two forwards that have been consistently dangerous by strapping them with his homer pick

Well they haven’t held a practice since the U.S. game, so when would the new lines have skated together?

The 2010 Canadian Olympic Team was perhaps the best constructed when it came to this. You had Toews, Richards, Nash, Staal, Marleau and Perry all play checking roles or kill penalties.

Honestly, the 4 Nations roster kind of reminds me of this WJC team. Cirelli, an aging Marchand and
Bennett? At least with 4 Nations, Canada has so much offensive firepower that it may not be that big of a problem.

Just seems like Hockey Canada is constructing rosters the way USA hockey used to in the 2010s and USA Hockey is constructing their rosters like how HC used to.

It is alarming for sure. Usually it was 3 top tier scoring lines and then the obvious checkers. If the checkers could score, even better. For example Bob Gainey was on the 1976 Canada Cup team even. But that team was so well constructed that it didn't matter either. But there is this "We are the smartest guys in the room" mentality with Hockey Canada. Too much politics with the picks. Its Rob Zamuner all over again.

Looks like a team that hasn't practiced since the 27th and stuck with the exact same line combos that haven't worked all tournament. I never want to see Cameron's ugly face on my TV again

He is horribly ugly though isn’t he? Mousey face with a dumb look constantly on it

McKenna with NO effort (he quit) on the 3rd goal - and, of course, posters wanted MORE players like him.

Howe with Canada's ONLY goal - and posters wanted fewer players like him.

Sorry, you’re a good poster here normally, but in a 3v2 the forward is supposed to take the trailer; the problem there is he didn’t commit to taking the trailer, he got caught in no man’s land. It’s Bonk’s job there to cut off the pass and let George set to the shooter, not for McKenna to follow the man. Dickinson is the real issue, low chance pinching with 10 secs left in the period

I’m not sure if this is the worst Canadian team I’ve ever seen at this event (they did lose to Kazakhstan to finish 8th in 1997-98), but it’s definitely up there. From the player selection, to the coaching, discipline, special teams, and team play. Goaltending is the only saving grace.
