Gotcha. Last night just feels like the kind of game where Parekh would have had 4 assists and people would go “yeah but it’s Latvia”

But it’s like yeah there you go, that’s why a player like that is usually brought.
There is some truth to this, and that sometimes having those guys makes things easier the the rest of the team. Also that great teams have variety. Mynio is a good player and he won't be killing the team as seventh defenceman, but he adds nothing new. Having an offensive weapon at the back would be something useful going forward.

As a positive for Canada, Dickinson should be able to give more from the back end. Not as dynamic as Schaefer but promoting from within could work here.

True, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that basically any other roster they could have brought, including the U18 one, wouldn't have lost to Latvia. Lmao
People seem to be forgetting that despite the warts and lack of finish in the game Canada really outplayed Latvia.

If Canada doesn't blow out everyone the bed wetters come out in droves.

Incredible to me that in the blaming players game (especially in the GDT) somehow the loss was 90% on Cowan and 10% on Bonk.

You guys realize two players took penalties in the 3rd that lead directly to goals?

Or that the PK played awful and had multiple chances to clear the puck right before goals were scored. One player had the puck on his stick, muffed a clearing attempt and it was in the back of the net 5 seconds later. Yet somehow none of these players got any criticism from the peanut gallery.

It’s so transparent how some players are held to a different standard because people hate their NHL team.

Almost nobody is blaming the players? It's just Hockey Canada being Hockey Canada.

Again - anyone here could lose to Latvia. Losing to Latvia is not some massive achievement.

Literally anyone in the country could do what Dave Cameron and Hockey Canada managed yesterday. Here's an artistic representation of them and you:

LOL.

Then apply to the links below. Show them you know better.

My guess : The jobs at Hockey Canada and the NHL pay better than your current job.

If you mean me, I'm not being "mad" about the tournament.

I just tired of all the Canadian fans who turn on the team as soon as the going gets tough. It's happened since 1972 and it will be around long after I'm gone.
It's called having high expectations and having passion for the team. I understand loses happen and people overreact, but Canada has never lost to Latvia before, so this should be how we are reacting. Do we maybe overreact after we loose to teams that are acceptable like the States, Sweden or Finland? Sure we do, but once again it's called having passion for your team. Losing to lower teams is bound to start happening as the gap closes I guess but that doesn't mean that we should just sit around and be happy about it.

Reread the posts. There are endless kids being dragged thru the mud.

^^ That's a fair post. ^^

I just tired of all the Monday Morning Quarterbacks in this forum from posters who think they know better.

Again, when the team wins, they get to cheer. When the team loses, they get to say, "If only they'd listened to ME..."

That's why being a Monday Morning Quarterback is so easy - you're NEVER wrong.

Who is blaming Cowan? He's been one of the best forwards on the team. People seem pretty consistent on where the blame lies, and it is above Cowan or really any specific player. Hockey Canada brought more grinders than it needed to and Cameron hasn't figured out how to correctly utilize the talent he has yet. I'm sure there is mindless cheerleading too but that's easily ignored. Cowan is far from a problem for this team.

There was only 1 currenty available job via your link provided and it only paid $46K annual salary. Why are you spamming this thread with basically the same comment over and over again? That's a rhetorical question. Everyone already knows every you stand.

Please...

I'm in the International Forum all the time. I've never see you here. Don't come here and accuse me of spamming.

I have NO idea what the last sentence in your post means - I'm not sure you know.

Anyway, for @JackSlater and all the rest of you "experts", here is the link for careers at hockey Canada....

If they won't hire you, here is the link for jobs at the NHL...

Please send them your posts prior to yesterday's loss and explain how you would have done a better job.

P.S. When they don't hire you, you can say it's because Hockey Canada is an old boys club and you were passed over because you don't have the proper connections.

I'm sorry but the irony of clicking on that HC link and seeing only a single open position in all of Hockey Canada is too much. Doesn't exactly help your argument they aren't an OBC lol

Intern for free. Work your way up. Once they see how knowledgeable you are, they'll open a highly paid position for you.

I'm not the one saying I know better than the people at Hockey Canada. I'm the one saying stand by the kids.

But it's the same every tournament. All these Monday morning quarterbacks know better. Well, if you do, send your resume to Hockey Canada or USA Hockey or somewhere else.

Prove to the world how smart you are.
This is a fan forum you're in the wrong place for these "Go work for Hockey Canada" arguments.
