Dach is out for the rest of the year after knee surgery per TSN.

This guy can not stay healthy.

Hi Kings fan,

As I imagine with Kopitar on the cusp of retirement, the team will be led by Byfield at C.

With all this Clarke talk, would you consider a swap with Dach to get a young C?

Maybe a bigger trade? I believe mobile LHD is a need for you.

Clarke
Danault
No. 0% chance. If one of Clarke or Byfield is being moved (less than 1% chance) it's for big game hunting (Brady Tkachuk, etc).

Danault should be moved no matter what but LA won't do a move like that because they are "right there".

I think LA is happy with the LH Dmen (Anderson, Moverare, Edmundson). Gavrikov could go back to the left side too. LA needs a high scoring Top6 winger that is right handed (*cough* Vilardi *cough*). Nothing in the trade provides that.

Unfortunately till new management is brought in with new philosophy across the board this will continue as this group is unable or unwilling to adapt.
The main problem is ownership is to hands off and is only listening to same people who have to move on

What would y'all offer for Tkachuk?

The problem is Tkachuk is too expensive for LA and their prospect pool. Ottawa would want one of if not both Byfield and Clarke with adds. Which they should ask for and get if Tkachuk is moved. LA needs to build around those two guys so at most it would be like Turcotte, Spence or Greentree as the top prospects moved with someone like Fiala or Moore going back for cap purposes. If it's like the PLD trade than you're looking at...

Turcotte, Spence, Moore, 1st

Edit: I'm assuming you ment Brady and not Matthew.

how about Claude Giroux? Right handed shot, switches between RW and C and is a top Face off % in the league when he does play C, Currently on Ottawas PP1 and PK1 and in the last year of his contract. Has 37 points in 58 games so far this year. 37 years old.
Not a lot. Maybe a prospect like Hughes or Pinelli and a lower pick.

Like I said, LA shouldn't be moving Clarke (or Byfield) but they should be building around them. So I wouldn't move them in a trade unless it ridiculously favors LA. But with Blake in charge anything is possible.

I as GM would be keeping Byfield, Clarke, Turcotte, Laferriere, Portillo, and the prospects & picks. Everyone else is free game. I'd also keep Kempe & Anderson and only move them in a major deal. Use them as the veteran leadership. Spence, Moverare, Thomas can stay too but I'd be okay if they are in deals so LA doesn't move anyone in the group above.

Would Ottawa be good trading partner? Something like a
Spence and Moore for Pinto and Kleven .
We get Right handed center and they get right shot d.
Too much or not enough

I wish the Kings would have let Clarke play freely and with confidence, as he showed first 13 games.....13 points. I saw Harley in AHL when Stars came to Loveland vs Eagles and was never impressed...Clarke blew him away at every level...and now Harley's a star and Clarke is on a leash and shattt upon.
I would never deal him, but theyve ruined his confidnce and he's playing 'not to make a mistake'.
This proposal is 90% based on frustration and would be hard to propose, but I like the idea of getting 3 good young players, for Clarke / QB. I beleive JJ is a better player than QB and that's probably just me, but he's 1 of 10 most underrated players in the NHL and just getting started....I think Byram has taken a big step this year and would love to have him...Cozens? yes, a somewhat risk at 7.1, but love that he threw down on opening FO last night and he's still a talent. I think he will still be 25 g 30 a guy and can play rw or c. Kings are worst team at center in entire NHL atm and no center in system that is top 6. Scary.

The thing is, Byram is available for trade and he's had a huge yr...improving his defensive play. 29 pts and only 23 yo. They're not giving him away. They are rumored to have asked about QB. Honestly, I'd deal QB before Clarke, but if the Kings are not going to play him, I'd deal him for a good return. If AHL Juricek could get a #1,#2,#3 and Daemon Hunt, Clarke could get that much. Or in that area.
Since Cozens and his 7.1M are on the block, I'd make them pay a little extra by taking him, JJ Peterka (one of most underrated players in the game) that is only 23 and scored 28 goals last yr....can play C or RW. The Kings need a center right now and for the future.
Kopi is done, unfortunately. 4 esp last 20 games and has looked terrible, post 4nations.
Time has caught up w him. It happens to all and it's happening.
Kopi 0 goals last 20. QB 0 goals last 10. Danault 2 goals last 26. Clewlis 1 goal last 30.
This alone, is a 32nd place team, that has ZERO goal production from centers and then consider 30th PP in NHL, this is not a healthy team.
I'd honestly ask: Byfield + Clarke for Peterka, Cozens, Byram.
They'd reject...but start there. Peterka will score 30 goals 70+ for yrs.
Cozens is not bad and under producing atm, but has scored 31 goals.
QB will NEVER score 30 goals. Lucky if he ever scores 25. And he's soft.
When was last big hit? Dont say he doesn't have to hit, or be a force, he does,
at 6'5" 230. He should be physical...at least as physical as 5'7" Lizotte, who
is 100% more physical....Cozens threw down opening faceoff last game....QB will
never drop the gloves...he prefers hugging and kssing Kuemper after each game. WTF?
Byram? Is a helluva defenseman right now and a stud. Byram 23, Peterka 23, Cozens 24.
It's not like you're not getting up and coming players. Cozens and Peterka can both play w or c. I'd honestly add the #2 2026 or a Pinelli / Dvorak level prospect.
Consider the Kings will never allow Clarke to fully play his game...and that QB cannot
score goals. He can't. Period. Kopi will NEVER be 80% of what he was, even at what he was at in October.

I'd also deal #3 for Armia. 6'4" 210 and good on boards and PK.
His 10 goals, 14 assists is pretty good and 110% better than Clewlis
Copley > Rittich.
Send Ritich to Ontario.
You can move Phil into top 9 as warrants.
Many options...the Kings currently have 0 options
up front to ice 12 NHL forwards.

  • Unforseen bonus: Ek rumor Ranatanen interested in signing w Kings.
Fin and 4nations teammate Armia can talk him into it.

Laferriere Peterka Kempe
Fiala Cozens Foegele
Turcotte Kopitar Moore
Jeannot Danault Armia
Byram Doughty
Anderson Gavrikov
Edmundson Spence
Kuemper

Clarke was always > Harley....even defensively...I laughed at Harley when I saw him...terrible pivots and not good defensivley...too bad that the Kings cannot fit Clarke into the team...all other 31 teams would
and he'd be excelling...only the Kings will stop Clarke from becoming generational.
