WC: 2025 Switzerland

Marti gets rested again, which makes sense. Charlin in net, some changes in the offensive lines.

Can‘t wait!

You could make a pretty good team with the injured forwards:

Simion - Hischier - Kurashev
Rochette - Corvi - Herzog
Scherwey - Haas - Thürkauf

Some of that center depth would help.

In other news, Schmid was interested in coming, but they decided against it, which makes sense. Aeschlimann will be registered and will probably backup twice. But Charlin should start another game to gain experience.

So there is one spot (Hischiers injury) left, either for Nino who could be available for the quarters but if not he may bring in Rohrbach or another D-men.

he would be a nice addition without a doubt, I wonder where to play him without destroying the chemistry and who's gonna be the odd man out. the scoring of the NL guys was a b it surprising to me so far to say the least. don't get me wrong I really liked to have him in the team but how to manage not to lose by adding could be tricky

To be honest and maybe also being a bit „hard“ to this legend, im my opinion the odd man should be clearly Ambühl. His contribution in the previous games was nearly zero and I just dont see how he should improve this in the quarters. So, in case Nino is joining, I would go for Ambühl or Hofmann

I have no question that Nino is coming, if he's healthy. And Fischer will not miss out on such an important player and leader. His presence on and off the ice will be very important.

Tuesday is probably not possible, so it's directly for the quarters.
And yeah, Ambühl wasn't very good, his impact on the game is minimal. Nevertheless I'd go with Hofmann because Ambühl is just much more versatile, fits easily everywhere and is playing PK (and not bad at it) which is important because we miss Nico there.

You guys lead tournament in goals after today! 30. Wow
And in the past 5 games, only 1 goal scored against (a PP goal by Germany in the last two minutes of a game Switzerland was winning 5-0). In the last period vs Norway (who had scored 4 goals in the third period to the US in the previous game), with the score 3-0, they allowed 0 shots. Today against Hungary - admittedly a really weak opponent - they allowed them 6 shots in the whole game. Defense ain‘t doing that bad either.

interestingly unlike previous yeras we did not depend that much on the scoring of our NHL guys, seems as if the short stint of Paul DiPietro (candaians might rember him from the Torino Olympics) as skill coach was useful :)

Thank you to your coach, but the way I see it the favorites are 1. Canada 2. Sweden 3. Czech Republic 4. Switzerland.
Ive got Canada alone for now, they have a 2015 vibe to me.
Then Sweden all alone too.
Then the rest of us.. Swiss, Finn's, Czechs, USA could all beat anyone.

But we'll see how it plays out! Maybe we meet in the finals again!!?
