WC: 2025 Switzerland

Fiala's wife was pregnant but they lost their child last week. That's why he was late. Unbelievable that he's still coming under that circumstances.
Holy crap, this is crazy. And very irresponsible to push fake stories like "he's already in the plane" or "paperwork is slow".

I agree but to be fair as far as I remember it was told that it's due to persoanal reasons and it's absolutely right that it's up to him to chose whether they want to reveal the reason or not it would have been irresponsible from swiss hockey to do it imho

Yeah, as much blame Fischer and especially Weibel get for stuff, they did handle this situation very professionaly.

The last time I remember such a convincing game was the semifinal against the United States in 2013 that they dominated from start to finish. First on every lose puck, every situation well and calmly managed.

Next big game on Thursday, a win there would make a top two finish very likely.

Walker's slapper from that match will stay printed in my head forever

What I like in comparison to last year that last year every offensive hope was connected to Hischier/Fiala/Nino. Now we have at least 2 lines with a pretty high offensive upside and also the third line with Jäger/Knak/Riat is much more likely to score than Simion/Senteler/Herzog last year.

And yeah, there is no Josi and he's not replaceable, but Moser is doing a pretty good job. I still don't know how anyone can think Fora is the 6th best defender on the team.

But yeah, Germany is going to get tough, they're having a pretty good team and it's a 50-50 game. Germany is in my opinion also in the mix for the first two spots of the group.

According to Fischer, he will reserve one spot for Niederreiter. Dallas is leading 2-1 with playing the 4th game at home tonight. Seems that he will come if Winnipeg is eliminated!

Nino would be a nice add, therefore. Go Stars!

Looking at the results so far, it seems already decided, that the QF wlil be reached.

Nino said that he‘d always come no matter what because he‘s not getting any younger.

Thursday Genoni, Friday Charlin, what do you think?

Genoni against Germany, Charlin against Norway. Then Genoni against Hungary, and Charlin with Aeschlimann against Kazakhstan so Genoni is rested for the quarterfinal.

And the earliest Niederreiter could come is Sunday, which would give him one group game. Timing could work but we need two Dallas wins.

I assume Schmid is also in a pole position for a spot? Vegas is one defeat away of elimination. Or is Aeschlimann already confirmed? If Schmid is avaible and wants to come, I would give the 3rd goalie spot to him.

You are corrected, Aeschlimann is not registred yet. But even if Schmid can join I can't see him start an elimination game over Genoni.
I assume the reason why he is not yet registered is the situation of Schmid. But yes I agree, Genoni should be Nr 1

Regarding Nino: In case Dalls should win the series in the 6th game or so, I hope he will also come for only the quarter final. Game 5 will be in the night to Friday so lets hope for 2 Dallas wins!

Go Dallas!!! :D

I don't know if it makes sense to bring in Schmid. I mean Charlin played well vs. Denmark and he should get more games to gain experience. Schmid didn't play that much lately, so has no playing rythm and is not used to the big icefield.

If the Jets lose the next game, Nino might make it for the game on tuesday, which would be fine. But should be good enough to have him for the Qf.

I am curious if Nino would also come in case Dallas win it in game 6 at home on Saturday. For Tuesday, it would be difficult but it could be enough for the QF
