2025 Summer Transfer Rumors and Discussion Closed Window

@Jussi you lot are not getting 200 million for a 30-year-old Bruno who had a bad season lol. Give up the Kool-Aid brethren.
Bruno had in no shape or form a bad season. He's the only reason they're not playing in Championship next year.

Third best player in the PL according to Sofascore, 9th best according to whoscored. And that while playing with a bunch of players with zero finishing.

My thoughts are that if you should've been relegated by every math and analytics out there, absolutely no one had a good season IMHO.
I'm curious to see you post even a single one these "math and analytics" things that show United should have been relegated.

They certainly didn't have a good season but were 15th in goals, 13th in xG, 12th in GA, 13th in xGA and 12th in xPTS.

What were they bottom 3 in the league in?

- Manchester United lost 18 Premier League matches this season. That's more than Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City combined (17). It's United's highest number of defeats since they recorded 20 losses and were relegated in the 1973-74 campaign.

- It was a season of many unwanted firsts for Manchester United. They completed their first-ever Premier League campaign without back-to-back wins. Their longest winless streak was eight matches, which is United's worst run in the Premier League era. They finished a lowly 15th in the table.

- Remove results against the relegated trio, and Manchester United would sit bottom of the final Premier League standings with a measly haul of 23 points from a possible 87.

- Manchester United conceded the opening goal in 31 matches across all competitions this season. That's more than any other Premier League club.

I actually think Arsenal is the worst spot for him. Arteta system/tactic is going to be making him do a ton of donkey work. All he does for Sporting is make runs through the half space

The worst spot? OK.

Fortunately for him that isn’t all he does, but seeing as how he does occupy half spaces it frees up the wide attacking players.

I’m not really sure saying he wasn’t good enough to break into the first team and therefore he hasn’t failed in the prem is an argument that holds much water.

Then I guess it’s a good thing I never said that.

Yes the team of Manchester United was bad. Everyone knows this. No ones arguing that. Bruno Fernandes personally was quite good this year despite the team being horrifically bad.

Ah, alternative stats then.

Is there an obvious centerback buy for Chelsea this summer? Needs to be a physically imposing presence like Rudiger, Konate to partner Colwill. Strong in 1 on 1s

I would guess Chelsea use the champions league to really push for a big name like Rodrygo/Nico Williams, but they’ve also been linked with Garnacho and Gittens on the wing.

Pretty happy with Delap.

Small link to Chevalier, but regardless, we need a better GK. Sanchez was actually tolerable in the second half of the season but I just find him annoying to watch and knowing that he’d pout if he was ever relegated to being #2 is annoying. Oh and still Maignan’s name linked around us as well

Tadic is also leaving Fener, another old player that had a very good season for the Turks. He's 36 but should still be useful for a possession based team in a non top 5 league. Not surprising he's linked to a move back to Ajax.
