NHL 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs

WOW...just looked at the main board and some of the Leaf fans are a bit over the top. I get they are probably the favorites but their over confidence may piss off the hockey gods.

GO SENS AND LINUS!
Would love for Linus and the Sens to knock off the smug leafs. Get the habs, leafs and oilers gone on the first round and I am happy.

What happens if this year they lose in round one….again? We know that Marner and Tavares won’t be back (money)….but they won’t fire Berube and what’s left to change? I think they beat Ottawa but do hope the Sens become the new ‘Bruins’ that knock them out in seven games…..😂😂😂😂
In OT of Game 7 after the Leafs were up 3 goals in the third

I wish it weren't so, but Ullmark is looking very shaky so far. Beaten by 2 good shots, to be fair, but with his playoff history, bad signs.
In a playoff series, you want a save on that OEL goal. I know he’s coming right down the slot, but need a save.

Horrible lapse in defensive coverage as well though.

I never blame goalies for getting beaten from the low slot, as long as the shot is decent, because they have so little time to react and the shooter has a lot of net to work with. But I think overall Linus has looked tentative. Way too passive on Marner's breakaway, basically let Mitch walk in and pick his spot unchallenged. Sometimes the shooter is just too good, but here Ullmark made it easy for him IMO.

The “almost” Toronto goal was pretty bad positioning by Ullmark.

I just don’t know that he’s a playoff goalie.

It was. Early jitters maybe. We know his history. Hopefully for the Sens' sake he can settle.

Yeah I just think OEL’s shot was savable.

Kind of a weird period. Senators had way more shots but I felt like Toronto was in the driver seat most of that period.

We’ll see how Ullmark plays out the series. He doesn’t pass the playoff smell test for me so far though. I really wish he just disclosed he had the groin injury in that damn Florida series.

Oh it was savable, for sure, but to me it's one of those ones where if the goalie does get beat, you just write it off and say tough luck, good shot.

Early days, but perhaps we will see Forsberg at some point. He is a decent enough backup to at least consider as an option.

Ottawa is going to discover that Ullmark does not have the extra gear that is required for playoff hockey. We experienced 3 years of it and it’s not pretty
