Out of curiosity I looked up the MLB record for SB in a game, which is 15.

The Sox could dress a legit lineup that could make a run at it, in the right situation, of course.

I don't think that second pitch was a changeup. That looked like back to back NASTY 2-seamers to me. Regardless, that stuff is filthy.

I would be happier if we had another arm in the pen, tbh


But getting Bregman was absolutely needed. So far the off-season moves look good

They have plenty of arms out there.

If Hendricks can be 94-96 with an ok slider and throw strikes then he’s gonna be big for the 6th/7th inning

If they’re in the mix in the playoffs I’d like another established pen arm too. Guerrero has looked pretty rough lately in AAA so I don’t want to rely on him as a reinforcement at this point in time

Honestly could see Dobbins in the pen at the end of the year, his stuff should be able to play up in that kind of role. Could also see a guy like Sandlin depending on how his season goes (stuff is MLB quality, consistency isn’t quite yet)

Newcomb pitches batting practice, nothing more. There has to be a better option on the scrap heap or in the mid minors. McKenzie just got DFAed and the Padres will trade a pitcher. Start there.
