For a young-in what are you referring to?

Teams are seeded 1 to 8 in order of regular season final standings, high to low. 1 seed plays 8 seed. 2 plays 7. Etc. Teams reseeded after each round.

Sure is, but it’s based on the simplest element of hockey - go to the net.

McKinnon was on the wall and drove to the net with the d-man hanging on him, he one hands the puck to the front of the net - things go sideways, goal.

Contrast this to the Isles special figure skater and how for $9M he would handle that play: skate a little more along the wall, cut back to drop the d-man, then look for a teammate to pass to. The d and goalie get set for the pass and the shot. No scoring chance and… all the excuses come out about the talentless wingers, passes go to die, etc.

Yet, there’s a clear difference in mindset and success based on how two players would play that in the same situation.

I've noticed the William Nylander haters here have been pretty silent this year . . . I still remember when I was proposing Pelech for Nylander a few years back how many crapped on the idea . . . too soft, not a winner, overrated . . .

Time to give the guy his due.

207 goals in 436 games (39 per 82 games a year) - 3 straight 40 goals +, 2nd in the NHL this year with 45

243 assists in the same period

LAK have lost 4 in a row to EDM, including this series they should have one. Odd challenge and ‘I wanna be an empty net hero’ play and done.

Hiller is probably toast. Does Blake bump himself or get canned too? (I could also see a Q as HC option for them, the media nonsense will blow over quickly in LA, and if you hire Q, best to do it second round with WPG and TOR taking the Canadian media attention).

There was a small contingent of us who wanted him instead of MDC in 2014, so I've always been a fan. He was making very good NHL plays as a 17 year old in his highlight video.

So the Bolts went out, so I was thinking maybe the Wild because I like Bogosian and MAF. So then they lost, and I hate the Avs, but would like to see Brock win a Cup if it comes down to it. Can't stand the Leafs, Oilers, Hurricanes, or Knights. I don't hate the Blues or Jets necessarily, and I didn't really hate the Panthers, but their dirty play makes it hard to cheer for them.

So after that word vomit that really didn't explain very much, I don't think I have a team overall I can say I genuinely want to win. It's now down to players pretty much. I will say I always laugh at the Canadian fans who will cheer for any Canadian team and justify rooting for their rivals because of Canada. That and the current Canadian Cup drought means I'll at least prefer a US team to win if it comes down to that.

They ignore the nationality of a bulk of the players and focus on where the team is based, which is absurd. So aggravating those folks is always enjoyable.

Only team I’m rooting for is Colorado. After that, it’s just rooting for whatever teams are playing the teams I dislike, so whoever’s playing Toronto.
