Think we are in tough. Team has a lot of miles on them. I think the Caps are heavy favourites here, but a couple days extra rest definitely benefits the Habs. We need the rest. I think the Caps are one of the better matchups for us. Let’s see what the boys have left in the tank.

...the Metro was the best way for the Habs to even have a shot, imo; Washington played extremely well for most of the season, but I personally think they played over their heads, mostly cuz Thompson was lights out...they are vunerable...

Thermostat are regulation devices, so that's probably about doing more micromanaging, but thermometer? Is he saying he was just checking the "temperature" during the season...
I might be wrong, but I think he means it as a metaphor for managing your emotions or maybe dictating the play.

A thermometer is at the mercy of ambient temperature, a thermostat is in control of that temperature

Need to keep Heineman-Evans-Armia together. Dvorak with Andy and Gally.

I would actually sit Laine and put Demi with Hook and Kapanen. Laine is just a liability.
if we’re down early in the series and Laine is not playing well I will not be surprised if he’s one of the first players to come out.

Boys looked gassed on Wednesday but keep in mind we had a pretty insane number of games in the last two weeks compared to some other teams. From the 5th to the 16th we had 7 games.

March 23-24 was the last time they had two days off. That's a lot of hockey every other day + multiple back to backs without a rest.

He meant (in a very lyrical way) that you need to control your emotions during the playoffs. Hence the thermostat thingy. Lolol A thermometer doesn’t control anything.

Dis guy…

The key to winning in the 1st round is being able to match Washington's physicality. With Xhekaj not in the lineup not sure who's going to stand up for Hutson and Demidov once Wilson gets their hands on them

I don't only want Xhekaj beating the shit out of someone, I want our big wingers (Andy, Heinebro, Slaf) to terrorize their defensemen. If they forecheck hard we need to forecheck hard.

Caps D is sus and they've been absolute dogshit for the last month +.

That's their game and we won't beat them if we try to play their game.
Habs need to play their game in order to win.

Wilson will be a headache but in a serie.....Xhekaj can be put in the following game if things get out of hand.

Very interested to see what happens with the PP. I agree with trying swapping Demidov for Laine, but we would still need to figure out how to best use Laine on pp2.
*NET*
Slafkovsky

Caufield Demidov

Suzuki

Hutson

At the same time, Caufield is dynamic enough that he could move to PP2 and make an impact
