Expecting them to get walloped like the Hens were. Refs will call every little chintzy thing against Habs and we will get trampled physically.

Good lesson learned it will be for our younger lads.
I’m realistic. I can see us pulling off an upset but I can also see us getting curb stomped lol.

One thing I don’t see is us dominating them and pulling off a sweep or 5 game series.
We’re not there…yet

I'm coming into this series with very much tempered expectations.

I don't expect the Habs to win this series, but I'll of course be cheering for that until the bitter end.

I'm exciting to see what our young lads can do in front of a playoff crowd and with the playoff intensity. And excited to see the Bell Centre full in the playoffs again!
It’s oddly enjoyable to watch the playoffs with no expectations, and enjoy that while it lasts!

The other thing hitting me after all these years is that this isn’t a patchwork Habs team cobbled together just to make the playoffs and hope for the best, or a solid team in spite of its management, like we’ve seen a few times in the last 30 years. This is a team at the beginning of an actual plan to build a contender. We’ll see where it eventually goes, but it’s reassuring to at least know such.

It's insane how many people just ignore the penalty killing piece here.
I appreciate what Savard has done for us, but it's not like penalty killing is some uncoachable innate talent that certain people have. It's probably the most coachable aspect of pro hockey, which is why it's so strange that we seem to be against coaching most of our young guys into it.

There's a total difference between coaching them and having them learn and being in a playoff chase/game and who you feel comfortable as a staff putting on the ice to kill penalties when all the chips are down.

Everybody on that coaching staff discusses all the elements of personnel. It's clear that the group does not feel comfortable having Struble, Xhekaj or Hutson kill penalties over Savard.

This is just silly.

What on earth makes you think they haven't been coaching the younger players to kill penalties? Seems like an absurd conclusion to reach.

Generally the way you determine who your penalty killers are is you have everyone on the team going through penalty killing drills and you assess who the most suited to killing penalties in the specific system you're deploying are.

I get that Jfresh charts aren't the be-all end-all but he's really not even a good penalty killer. He blocks a lot of shots but anyone with a body and an ability to move around on skates can do that.

Only HABs fans would be so proud limping in, beating a team minus 7 big players!
Caps will smoke them . Caps in 4

Do people not realize where we came from to "Limp In"
Damn we own a lot of head space.

I LOVE IT
Jealousy’s a hell of a drug. The same dpishits laughing at the Habs for limping in are the ones who gleefully predicted we’d be lottery again. Now, because we’re not favorites to sweep the Caps, its a joke. They need to pick a lane: either we’re hot garbage or we’re expected to steamroll the top team in the league. Can’t be both. LOL.

This is year 3 of a rebuild. Average age: 25.95 - the youngest team to make the playoffs since the 2012-13 Leafs. And yeah, that means even younger than them. So congrats, that’s one more thing the Habs beat the Laffs at.

If it ends up Caps in 4, it ends up Caps in 4, but pretending like Montreal showing up is somehow embarrassing? Yikes. Like you say, Habs living rent-free in there heads, and we ain’t moving out any time soon.

You are correct Struble was playing better than Xhekaj BUT Struble wa splaying with Carrier at the time and Xhekaj with Savard. The second Struble started playing with Savard his play dropped hard.....

Savard is the issue but no one will say it, WHY?

Because you can play 52 min of solid 5v5 hockey and have it all wasted by a weak PK and Savard is our best PKer and one of 2 righties. In addition, our only cup winner, and he's like a father figure in the room. He's adored by his teammates and they will want to play for him since he has announced his retirement after this year.

Things are never so simple...

Not trying to hate but sous vide is so overrated
totally disagree.. but thats cool. we can prefer different ways to cook our food.. but i do gotta say that my day job for the last 25 years has been as a chef.. and I have found it to have just too many benefits to not use.. its crazy the amount of thibgs its useful for... plus get a higher quality of temperature control and moisture content of your meat... the evenness of the cook follows edge to edge and with a hot and quick reverse sear you get a beautiful crust with out drying out the meat.

but thats just my experience.. you may cook different things and have a different view on it... and that ok bro!

All I know is if you Sous Vide on Top Chef, you're going home.
