Those history to be made commercials were awesome. Quite possibly the best marketing technique the NHL did.

I saw RDS have a "bain de sang" (bloodbath for you English folk who aren't like me) and my random question is.

Does that sort of rhyme, or is my pronunciation that wrong ? I guess until you do the end of "sang" it does.

Either way, back to not doing anything at work.

I really wanted us to go through the Metro. I think all 3 metro teams are super vulnerable:

Washington. Fantastic season - but in my opinion they're a paper champion. Just like Boston 2 years ago, and also Winnipeg this year. They're nowhere near as good as their record. I don't see them going very far in playoffs.

Carolina. They always lose in the playoffs

NJ. WIthout Jack Hughes, they won't go far. If he was healthy, I'd think different.

Flipside - I think any of Toronto (yes, even them), Tampa or Florida could go all the way.

Washington will be an incredible challenge, but I like this matchup for us. I say we're going to win - and it'll start with game 1.

If Caps are without Thompson and Potras, Habs need to capitalize on that. It's not clear when they are back, might even play injured at this time of the year. Chychrun might be banged up too, but that's like his normal state.

At the start of the season, the Caps were playing with cohesion and structured hockey, but it slowly eroded as the season advanced and once Ovi broke the record they slowed down a lot. Hard to say if they still have emotional juice for what come next. Or if Dubois will be CBJ playoff or Winnipeg Jets playoff Dubois.
And Wilson will try to behead half the team...

On the other side, Habs are a top 3 team when rested and healthy but run out of steam fast. Also, no actual 2c line. And nerves appears to be a problem (including for the coach).

When was the last time you can honestly say the Habs outplayed a team? Even during their last win streak? Washington is way too strong.

That's the beauty of playoffs hockey, you never know.....all it takes is a few bad bounce a hot goalie combine with the pressure being on the Caps.

That's why we often see upsets in the 1st round, i really think we can do it.

Washington has been terrible down the stretch... They don't look anything like a first place team. Anything is possible, is all I'm saying.
We haven't looked so good either, haha.

But I'm hoping with rest we'll look better.

It seems the second line is our Achilles heel. Can Demidov find a way to make Laine effective 5 on 5???? Can Laine himself do that???

Team is being written off by everyone already, zero pressure entering the playoffs

I’m liking our chances here
There's basically no negative.

Our leaders (mostly Nick) proved that he can strap a team to his back. He also proved to management that his word means a lot.

Our young players get some playoff hockey. And in the way of Demidov, just some extra hockey is huge.

We're clearly much closer to this rebuild being ready to fly than we thought, which if is a good thing because we will get more of Nick's, Kaiden, and Cole's big years.

MSL may not be my favourite coach, but some real true playoff hockey will be good for him.

So, where is the practice? Lol, I kid, I kid... I am happy they get till monday to lick the wounds and rest.

And I truly hope that st louis will take that time to relfect hard on roster selection and ice time distribution. Like REALLY hard. Perhaps Kenny can talk to him about it too. He can't not be seeing it...

Caps will be living in Montanbo's crease and Hutson, Matheson or Carrier aren't it to clean it up. I can give marty a hint who that might be, but I hope he can arrive there by himself.

Alright... i guess day off today and then back to work tomorrow? Good times, good times.

This actually ended up being the difference between playoffs and no playoffs.

Yup the 38 seconds that carried us to the post season. I'm not sure why you used that feed though.
TSN and RDS both were far more realistic in terms of what was really going on in that building.
Those two sounded like they were describing a croquet match.

Let it be Sunday the anniversary of the risen Christ for les habitats' run for the holy grail. The significance of the day will not be lost on me.

Oh I agree, but it was late and didn't feel like searching for it. This was the first thing that popped up on YouTube.

Absolutely zero pressure. I’m sure this young team was feeling it down the stretch. I expect them to go out there and have fun. It’ll bode well for them.

I dont think Washington has found juice after ovi broke the record. That was a huge rallying point for them

Losing Laine and Reinbacher at the start of the year was a buzzkill. Losing Dach later on was devastating, and thinking we lost Guhle for the season - I basically gave up hope. Didn't watch as many games. Focused on other things.

BUT MAN, this team doesn't give up! What a story, from the resilience of this core, being bottom of the standings in December, always down but never out, Hutson having a historic season and the introduction of Demidov, making it in the very last game. Couldn't have written a better script! Go Habs Go!
