League-wide rank for points since 4 Nations:

1. Club de hockey Canadien, 1st with 36 points

4. Washington Ovechkins: 4th with 34 points

To be fair, the Ovechkins have the 3rd highest points percentage at 73.91% while your Montreal Canadiens place 5th at 69.23%.

Still, entering the POs having been competing in playoff mode for a month, or coasting during a post-Ovechkin goal chase hangover, while being outscored 43-27 over your last 10 games…

Who would you rather be?

Need to keep Heineman-Evans-Armia together. Dvorak with Andy and Gally.

I would actually sit Laine and put Demi with Hook and Kapanen. Laine is just a liability.
Yup I keep meaning to mention how much Evans line was starting to look like it's old self as the game progressed.
Armia's wrist is improving and only going to get better with four days off. Heineman's speed and mass was sorely missed.

Habs in 5 or 6

Can’t shake this sense that Dobes will be a key factor for Habs vs Caps

Didn't Struble play less than 10 minutes tonight? The strategy Washington will have is to run the Habs out of the building, you will need a deterrent. I could be wrong.
His game has been what I call "yippy" lately. He also isn't punishing the opposition as much as he should be.
We need one of two things either a 30% PP or Arber Xhekaj in the lineup.
Everyone talking about this series are of the same opinion the Caps are going to pound us.

This isn't the 2010 Caps too, they are a relatively flawed team 1st place team. Not saying we will pull it off but I actually feel better against them than the 2021 Leafs. You do have to wonder if the Caps coming off the emotional high of the Ovie chase can be caught flat footed in this series?

Washington in 4. Easily. This team limped into the playoffs and our specialty teams are trash. It won’t even be close.

Just making the playoffs so soon should be our cup this year.

My wish: Habs in 4

What I think happens: Montreal gives a good challenge to WSH during the first 4 games and finds a way to start game #5 with the series tied 2-2, but WSH takes over and wins in 6.

Swung by the CBJ's board... actually pretty chill and level headed. Could be a decent fun base... no jerkoffs like sens or leafs. Naturally disappointed but no nastiness. Good on them. They have some really nice pieces on that team and likely will be a force to reckon with next season.
They know Washington gifted them game one of that B2B. Don Waddell said he would have done the exact same thing as Carolina.
That is why teams push for ranks in the standings once you are locked into a position you get to rest your guys.

Xhekaj keeping his game simple can give you 10-13 good minutes. He is someone who can answer the bell against any player in the league and that can't be understated. Guys like Hutson would appreciate having him in the line up.

Wilson is a wrecking ball in the post season, you have to be able to answer that.

When was the last time you can honestly say the Habs outplayed a team? Even during their last win streak? Washington is way too strong.
Washington has been brutal the past 10 games or so. If they don't get Logan Thompson back, the Habs can win this series.
