He broke the scoreboard. Dead center. 454 feet.
I'm saying that I don't want to spend $200 million on Alex Bregman to play either 2B or 3B when Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer are knocking on the proverbial door. Figure out if they can play. If they can't, THEN you can go sign someone like Bregman. But if Campbell and Mayer can make an immediate impact, you've still got that $200 million to spend on pitching or an upgrade at catcher or extensions for your young core or whatever else you might want.So put forth an inferior team for five months hoping for a maybe?
I don't buy the idea that Story is fragile. If we get 100-120 games out of Story this year, that will be a miracle.
STORY IS TERRIBLE when healthy. Don't spend huge amounts of money on someone you might not need a year from now.

If he had some sort of chronic condition, and kept aggravating the same injury, then that's one thing. But he's had two different injuries to two different parts of his body. Prior to coming to Boston, he was pretty durable when he was with the Rockies. I don't think he suddenly became fragile when he signed a Red Sox contract - I just think he's had a bunch of crap luck over the last three seasons.
4.0 WAR in 163 games as a Red Sox is NOT terrible.STORY IS TERRIBLE when healthy. How people forget this i don't know.
Leave it to you to find a phantom stat. Look at the rest of his hitting numbers TERRRIBLE:4.0 WAR in 163 games as a Red Sox is NOT terrible.
Ahhh.... I see. You're one of those people that thinks defense isn't important.Leave it to you to find a phantom stat. Look at the rest of his hitting numbers TERRRIBLE:
And just which universe will this occur?Ahhh.... I see. You're one of those people that thinks defense isn't important.
He was slightly above league average at the plate in 2022 and 2024. He was terrible for his first 25 games back after returning from injury in 2023, and average from then on.
Let him have a full, normal, injury-free off-season, and then you can judge him.
i judge him now and he is garbage. 3 years is plenty of time. Btw this noodle arm isn't exactly Ozzie Smith.Ahhh.... I see. You're one of those people that thinks defense isn't important.

Ozzie Smith had a noodle arm, too. You just couldn't tell because of that concrete astro turf stadium he played on......i judge him now and he is garbage. 3 years is plenty of time. Btw this noodle arm isn't exactly Ozzie Smith.
He also played in SD on grass. But no he wasn't the best example to use.One fact about this series that I wasn't aware of until my brother pointed it out.......Tigres and Leones share that ballpark for their home games. That atmosphere must have been nuts. I'm sure stadium security had their hands full.....

You’ve never been on the duckboats ?Get the duckboats ready!!! (Psst, I wonder how much it costs to rent a duckboat.)
Understood. There were major questions about his elbow before they even signed him. It was the big reason he was available for so long.
Hey, i hear we are in on Randall Grichuk haha. The cheap scum ownership has once again found its level.
Huh? Sign all what guys? I hope you're not saying the approach should be just blindly sign all your unproven young players and hope for the best. That's not what should be happening here.I’m fine with going with Campbell if they think he’s ready ~ the Bill Madlock comp as a hitter is enough for me
