It’s pretty simple.

“Alex is the manager. He’s going to make the line-up. I’m going to go out there and do the best I can when I’m in the line-up.”

Why throw gasoline on the situation? Unless players feel like management “lied” to Devers and “did him dirty” and feel the need to have his back.

It just doesn’t make sense in the context of a professional organization.

Casas likes to hear himself talk, obviously.

Ask him a question on the spot, he'' say whatever comes to mind in the moment.

I think he's harmless in this situation, because no one thinks Raffy is the best third baseman in the game. Just makes him look dumb.

I actually think it makes the whole organization look dumb yet again because it feels like no one is in charge. Total clown show.

Right? And then we found out Duran has some mental health issues.

Casas is a nice kid. Kinda weird but he's a nice guy.

I don't understand why so many hate him. He's harmless.
If you can't understand why people don't like him after today's remarks I can't help you.

Also, mental health isn't a get out of jail free card. Duran did have a pretty notable slip up last year though. I don't think he's completely in the clear maturity wise. But I would settle for Warrior Tristan Casas being in the lineup this year and producing.

I don't see any chance he opts out.
Maybe not, unless he has a monster year. That seems to be what he is betting on so that he CAN opt out.

Ya, you must think the Red Sox organization is thrilled with quirky Tristan Casas right now. This is not just a message board poster thing. Alex Cora is probably FURIOUS with him right now.

I think Duran is hard on himself. He's not the player he was when he first came up. He's matured in my mind.

Casas isn't everyone's cup of tea. And he's honest. He's got to learn to not say the first things that come into his mind. I appreciate his honesty and his thoughts. But he's gotta learn to shhhh sometimes.

That will come with maturity. And that's why it helps having veteran leadership in the clubhouse, which Bregman brings. Raffy ain't a leader. Pedey ain't walking through the door. Somebody has to reign in the kids a bit.

I'm not worried about what Casas said today. At all.

I don’t like Casas. I haven’t for a few years now. He really is in love with the sound of his voice. I’d trade him yesterday to improve other parts of this roster.

He loves himself. He absolutely loves to hear himself talk and thinks he knows best about everything, including baseball decisions. Trade him while his value is relatively high.

No way.

Never heard of a young professional athlete like that!

Funny thing is I think what Cora said f***ing sucked too. Genuinely worse than Casas since Cora's job is to manage the team.

What did Cora say?

I don't want to hear from the Tristan Casas people. Not a word. He is just an epic toolbag.

It's not his fault that he's a headcase, but can't the team contain it? This is a terrible look for the franchise once again. They are finally signing a top free agent, investing real money, and all it takes is a few days to turn the situation into a turmoil?! Casas does not have the right to have an opinion (in public) on the matter. Shut up, play baseball and stop doing swings in your head. That's what I would have told him.

The (infield) defense has been the weak link in recent years, anyone saw it. It's their right and obligation to fix it for the better of this club going forward. If Devers is not fine with it due to pride and HOF-considerations, then it's Coras task to make him put up with it. Stop being such whiners and do whatever it takes to make this team successful.
