Proposal: 2025 off season HC search - candidates

Hes going to choose between the Hawks Ducks Bruins or flyers.

I think somehow the Flyers end up with Tocchett. Which would open the Canucks job.

The Penguins Rangers Canucks Sabres are not that appealing.

Ducks or Hawks seem like the logical choices.

There is interview with Carlee on Frank S and he give an explanation about what he was looking for and how the NHL seems to recycle coaches is not what he feels is conducive to sustained success. Its a well thought out 1 minute clip.

No problem with Carle wanting some security assurances to jump into the NHL. Take the Hawk job and get fired in a couple seasons and his oppurtunites are greatly damaged going forward for a while. I think the work around is some term on a contract like 4 or 5 years. Carle makes just under a million a year at Denver (Richardson was 1.5) so plenty of room to offer "security" financially in a contract that will have him compensated what he would make in Denver over the next decade (even if the Hawks fire him a couple years in).

maybe give him a 5 year deal and extend KD so their timelines are sync'd up, pay him 2-2.5m or whatever to take the incentivize him as much as possible

Jay has legit sources. So if he’s throwing that number out, then the organization is probably pushing hard for him and Carle likely has interest.

I just think it’s silly to throw a number out like that. Nobody knows what’s going on in Carle’s head about this other than him. Just say that there is mutual interest at a high level instead of making up numbers.

Frank Seravalli is employed by the team essentially and said they are taking a huge run at Carle. I'm just not sure if we've shown enough for him to want to come here. At the end of the day if they give him like a 5 year deal with good money. I think he does end up here.
He is? I did not know that.

What is the connection there? It always seemed weird to me that they brought him is an analyst while at the same time making their broadcast a nightmare for locals to watch on a nightly basis.

The “why would Carle come to this dumpster fire” crew is going to have to jump to the “why would Mitch Marner come to this dumpster fire” crew and realize twice that this is a prestige franchise with deep pockets in an extremely desirable location.
Also that there is now a bunch of promising talent on the way. The franchise is now headed in the right direction. A coach can mold those young players.

It’s not gonna be a bunch of garbage vets phoning it in and not listening to the coach anymore.

New York, Vegas, the Floridas are the Hawks only competition. We are the only prestige franchise on our tank timeline.

Toronto and Montreal a half step below with Dallas Colorado LA and Edmonton just because of McDrai.

If I'm an up and coming coach I don't know that I'd want anything to do with New York, but maybe they offer him so much money he can't say no.

Am I missing why Vegas or the Floridas would be looking for a coach? All 3 of their coaches have won a cup with their teams and all three teams are playing great still.
